Ninho do Urubu is surrounded by police. The measure was taken for fear that there would be confusion in the CT on the part of the fans after the elimination of the team in the Copa Libertadores. Without a day off, the entire delegation that was in Asunción is expected for training this Friday afternoon (11).

Flamengo was eliminated from the Libertadores on Thursday night (10). The team played against Olimpia (PAR) and had a result of 3 to 1. The players entered the field with advantage, since they won the first leg last week. With the 1 to 0, they only needed a draw to advance to the quarterfinals of the championship, which was not the case.

This enraged the Red-Black crowd both on social media and those who were on site. A series of protests accompanied the entire technical commission. Flamengo supporters shouted and cursed at the board, the coach and the athletes as they left the stadium, at the hotel where they were staying and even at the airport when they left for Rio de Janeiro.

Afraid that even more angry people would gather at the club's Training Center this afternoon, the military police were called. Journalist Vitor Belloti, who is there, reported that two hours before training started, police cars were already lining up at the entrance. 30 officers are expected to secure the entrance to the CT.

Training with the team will start at 4 pm (Brasília time) and the focus will be on the next game. On Sunday (13) Flamengo will face São Paulo for the Brazilian Championship. With one less competition to distribute attention, the squad is expected to perform better and manage to catch up with the tournament leader, Botafogo, who are 13 points ahead.

Pedro's situation at Flamengo has taken on new chapters in recent days. After being left out of the squad against São Paulo, the striker became a hot topic due to public criticism from the team's coach, Filipe Luís, who cited poor training performance as the reason for his exclusion.

The statement caused discomfort among the player's representatives, who are now considering a possible exit from the club. Behind the scenes, a member of Flamengo's football department even stated that they would accept a €15 million (R$97.5 million) offer to negotiate the player.

BUT AFTER ALL, HOW MUCH IS SHIRT NUMBER 9 WORTH ON THE MARKET?
According to the website Transfermarkt , Pedro is currently valued at €22 million , equivalent to R$143 million at the current exchange rate. So, see what

Evolution of Pedro's market value

  • 05/2018 Fluminense €1.5 million
  • 02/2019 Fluminense €9 million
  • 08/2019 Fluminense €18 million
  • 12/2019 Fiorentina €15 million
  • 09/2020 Flamengo €12 million
  • 05/2021 Flamengo €14 million
  • 04/2022 Flamengo €10 million
  • 11/2022 Flamengo €20 million
  • 07/2023 Flamengo €22 million
  • 06/2024 Flamengo €23 million
  • 06/2025 Flamengo €22 million

SITUATION AT FLAMENGO

Knee surgery and strain with the coaching staff caused Pedro's market value to stagnate after peaking in 2024. Now, even though he is valued at over R$140 million, Flamengo is considering selling him for much less than the estimated value.

It remains to be seen what the next step in the striker's career will be, and whether any club will be willing to pay the Rubro-Negro's desired price.

Flamengo has officially begun negotiations with Agustín Rossi regarding a possible contract renewal. The Argentine goalkeeper, whose contract runs until December 2027, has expressed his desire to extend his contract with the club, with a salary increase included in the negotiations. The information was released by journalist Gabriel Reis, known as "Paparazzo Rubro-Negro."

EVERYTHING RESOLVED BETWEEN FLAMENGO AND ROSSI

Last Monday (14), Rossi's agent was at Ninho do Urubu to begin talks. The expectation is that the parties will move forward in July to align the terms of a new contract . Internally, the move is seen as a way to value a player who has established himself as a key part of the squad.

Rossi arrived at Flamengo at the start of the 2023 season, after excelling at Boca Juniors. With solid performances and consistency, he quickly assumed a starting position. Since then, he has put in strong performances and provides security in the defense. His current contract runs until the end of 2027, but the player's staff believes a raise is commensurate with his performance.

A TIME OF AFFIRMATION

Despite the interest in keeping Rossi for longer, the club's board, under the leadership of football director José Boto, has prioritized other renewals at the moment. Cases like that of full-back Guillermo Varela, whose contract runs until the end of this year, and midfielder Arrascaeta, whose contract runs until 2026, are on the immediate agenda.

Even without rushing, Rossi 's name is already on the table at the club's management. Boto understands that the appreciation of strategic assets is part of the club's policy, and that the Argentine goalkeeper, given his solid performance, deserves special consideration. The topic should advance in parallel with other areas of the football department.
