0Owner of highest revenue and one of the best squads in America, Flamengo surprisingly does not have athletes among the 10 highest paid on the continent. The list has a majority of teams from Major League Soccer (MLS), a league in the United States, and draws attention due to the presence of athletes from Palmeiras and Internacional ahead of Rubro-Negro.
According to a survey by the Copology website, specializing in football finance, and UOL, MLS teams pay six of the 10 highest salaries in the Americas. Of the four remaining players, two are from Liga MX (MEX) and two from Brasileirão.
Dudu, from Palmeiras, receives 5.4 million dollars (R$ 27.3 million) per year and is the highest salary outside the United States. Argentine Rafael Borré, from Internacional, closes the Top-10 with US$4.6 million (R$23.3 million) per year. Both have higher salaries than all Fla athletes, which has the highest salary bill in the country as it pays high standards for many players, but is still some distance away from rivals' salaries.
The highest paid player of the continent is naturally Lionel Messi, who receives 20.4 million dollars per season (R$ 111.3 million). The value, it is worth mentioning, is well below what the star received when he was at Barcelona (ESP) or Paris Saint Germain (FRA), but it is still a record for the American continent. The only athlete who exceeds 10 million dollars per year (R$ 50.8 million) is the Italian Lorenzo Insigne, from Toronto FC (CAN).
See the list of highest salaries in the Americas, in reais (R$):
1. Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) – R$8.6 million/month

TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT WITH FLUMINENSE
The termination of the contract between Marcelo and Fluminense took place on Saturday (2), at CT Carlos Castilho. The decision was made after a disagreement with coach Mano Menezes, which worsened a relationship that was already frayed.
The decisive episode occurred at the end of the last match at Maracanã, when Marcelo, upon receiving instructions to replace Lima, apparently made a comment that displeased Mano Menezes. Irritated, the coach decided not to proceed with the substitution and asked the player to return to the bench. Mano, however, did not detail the content of Marcelo's speech, he just stated that he did not approve of what he heard.

Since who arrived at the club, Arrascaeta and Gabigol share highlights, and the Uruguayan made a point of highlighting the attacker's mentality. “We arrived at Flamengo together and I have followed Gabi since then. GABIGOL DECISIVE IN THE FINAL AGAINST ATLÉTICO-MG
Last Sunday (03), during the 3-1 victory against Atlético-MG in the first match of the Copa do Brasil final, Gabigol was decisive by scoring two of the three team goals, ensuring a significant advantage for Mais Querido in the title race. With the favorable score, CRF could even lose by a goal in the second leg and still win the trophy. If you lose by two goals, the decision will be taken to penalties.
Furthermore, fan loyalty depends on regular access to games, something compromised when prices are high.

0Journalist Eric Faria publicly criticized the price of tickets charged for the last game of Flamengoagainst Atlético- MG, held at Maracanã. With an average price of R$256, the price attracted attention and generated discussions about accessibility and elitism of the fans. Faria's opinion brought to light a debate about the high prices charged by the club in decisive games.
In a direct comment, Eric Faria did not hide his dissatisfaction: "Absurd. Period." The journalist highlighted that Flamengo, despite having a fan base with many people capable of paying this amount, would have taken advantage of this situation, placing access to the stadium beyond the reach of many traditional fans. According to him, Maracanã was “completely elitist” and did not represent the usual public that frequents the stadium.
According to Faria, Flamengo's game against Atlético-MG did not reflect the usual presence of red and black fans. He noted that the profile of the public who attended Maracanã was more elite, different from the fans who traditionally fill the stadium in important matches. This distance between club and fans raises concerns, as part of the essence of football involves access for the popular classes, especially in a country where the sport is considered a national passion.
