Apesar da frustração esportiva por não conquistar o bicampeonato mundial, o resultado garantiu um aporte financeiro significativo para o clube.
A segunda colocação no torneio realizado no Catar rendeu aos cofres da Gávea a quantia de 4 milhões de dólares, o que corresponde a aproximadamente R$ 22 milhões na cotação atual. O título ficou com o clube francês, que, além da taça inédita, levou para casa o prêmio máximo de 5 milhões de dólares (cerca de R$ 27,5 milhões).
