Next Sunday's Fla-Flu may have, for the first time, Marcelo and Filipe Luís as starters and rivals on Brazilian soil. The sides from Fluminense and Flamengo are the most likely to start the match for the 15th round of the Brasileirão, at 4 pm (Brasília time), in Maracanã.
The duel will be the 17th in the careers of the Brazilians, who were on the field in one of hottest moments of the rivalry between Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid. Back in Brazil, the two are experienced characters in a derby that has risen in temperature in recent years.
Rivalry in Spain
In Spanish football, both wingers lived the peak of their careers . Marcelo is Real's greatest champion, while Filipe was an essential part of a multi-champion Atlético. There, they faced each other 16 times, with an advantage for the tricolor player.
The first three meetings took place when Filipe was still at Deportivo La Coruña. The clashes in the Madrid derby started in the 2010/2011 season. Adding up all the games, the advantage is large for the number 12.
In the direct clash, Marcelo won, but the clubs always had very different financial realities. Real beat Atlético twice in the Champions League final, in 2014 (with a goal by Marcelo) and 2016, in addition to eliminating the city's rival in the 2016/2017 season.
In all, there were 16 games in Spanish soil, with 10 wins for Marcelo, four draws and two wins for Filipe Luís. One of the side's victories was when he was still playing for Deportivo La Coruña, in the debut of the 2008/2009 Spanish Championship, and the other in the semifinal of the Champions League, when the victory was not enough to qualify the team for the final. >
Back in his native country, the two meet again as rivals, but in opposite realities: Filipe is at the rich and multi-champion club, while Marcelo defends those with the most modest budget. For now, the match is balanced: for the tricolor side, the Carioca Championship title; for the red-black side, the classification in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.
With key players out due to injury, suspension and punishment, coach Filipe Luís needs to reorganize the Mais Querido team for this Sunday's duel (14)

After tests confirmed the consolidation of a fracture in his right foot, the Chilean is released for field work and begins the final phase of recovery with a view to returning

Midfielder Erick Pulgar took an important step towards returning to play for Flamengo . Tests carried out this Friday (12) showed the consolidation of the fracture in the fifth metatarsal of the right foot , allowing the player to be released to begin activities on the pitch.
With medical clearance, Pulgar now begins the transition to field work . The Chilean will continue physical therapy to resume running, progress to ball-handling activities, and then enter the physical conditioning phase, the final phase before returning to official matches.
The midfielder hasn't played since the Club World Cup in June. After surgery on July 3, Pulgar spent some time in Chile and then returned to Ninho do Urubu to continue his treatment. Until then, he had been working out in the training center's indoor area.
The injury occurred during the Club World Cup Round of 16 match against Bayern Munich. The midfielder had already suffered the same type of fracture in his first months at the club, when it took him about 60 days to return to the squad.
Although coach Filipe Luís stated that he was counting on the Chilean for the Libertadores quarterfinals, it is unlikely that he will be on the field for the matches against Estudiantes , scheduled for September 18 and 25. Pulgar is expected to be available later in the season, reinforcing Flamengo's role in the ongoing competitions.
