Flamengo beat Paulistano 70-63 this Sunday (6), at Maracanãzinho , and reached their fourth consecutive victory in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). With a consistent performance in the second half, the red-black team turned the match around and remains in the fight for the lead in the competition. Jordan Willians was the top scorer of the match, with 16 points.
The start of the game was marked by offensive difficulties for FlaBasquete , which showed low shooting efficiency, especially in three-point shots . The defense also had difficulties in the first two quarters, and Paulistano went into the break with a 39-35 lead .
The turnaround began to take shape in the third quarter. With a better defensive performance, FlaBasquete limited the opponent to just 24 points in the final two quarters. Even with an inconsistent attack, the team found space on the perimeter and hit four three-pointers in the third quarter, retaking the lead.
In the last period, the red-black team scored only 14 points, but defensive solidity was enough to guarantee the 70-63 victory .
With the victory, Flamengo remains in second place in the NBB, with 55 points and a 77.7% success rate (24 wins and 7 losses in 31 rounds). With three games remaining in the qualifying phase, the team still has a chance of overtaking Minas , the current leader, but it depends on a combination of results .
Rubro-Negro will end the first phase with three away matches: Brasília (8/4), Bauru (13/4) and Franca (15/4).
Jordan Williams: 16 points, 4 assists, 6 rebounds
Alexey Borges: 13 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds
Gui Deodato: 8 points, 1 assist, 5 rebounds

Flamengo is close to finalizing its roster for the 2025/26 basketball season . The club has finalized the signing of 23-year-old Argentine Alex Negrete , one of the standout performers in the last season of the Argentine National League. A standout at Instituto de Córdoba, the player is expected to activate his release clause to join the Pride of the Nation.
The information was published by the Argentine newspaper La Voz, which revealed that the athlete's agent announced his departure shortly after the end of the national finals. Negrete finished the season averaging 13.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game , shooting 53.2% from two-point range and 33.8% from three. He was the Instituto's top scorer and was named the tournament's Best Young Player and Most Improved Player.
