The consortium formed by Flamengo and Fluminense is in the process of becoming official as manager of Maracanã for the next 20 years. As a result, the fans wonder if this victory represents an end to the dream of their own stadium on the Gasometer ground, in the center of Rio.

Flamengo is negotiating the acquisition of the land with Caixa Econômica Federal, manager of the fund that owns the space. The matter is dealt with directly by President Rodolfo Landim. Caixa values the land at R$250 million. Initially, Flamengo was willing to pay around a third of that amount. But, after conversations with the club, the bank understood that the red and blacks are willing to increase the value. But no proposal has been made yet.

And you are about 1.1 km away from Cidade Nova station, where you have the train and subway”, he pondered.

Maracanã is exceptional in this regard, because you have a train and subway right outside the stadium, there are wide avenues where people can reach by bus.
