The Flamengo is in an advanced stage of negotiations for the construction of its own stadium, a project that has the direct support of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes. The municipal representative has been committed to pressuring Caixa Econômica Federal for the sale of the Gasologista land, located in the city's port area, which is the intended location for the red-negro club's new arena.
Eduardo Paes used his social networks to detail the actions that the city hall has adopted to facilitate negotiations. In a publication, Paes highlighted the measures taken, such as the city hall's willingness to transfer the Certificates of Additional Construction Potential (CEPACs) to another area, in addition to mentioning the forgiveness of a historic debt of 4 billion reais to assist the operation of the Caixa Econômica Federal.
In the post, Paes stated: “City Hall has already said that it will transfer CEPACs to another area. We have already forgiven a debt of 4 billion (historical value) to help the CEF operation. As we did with my Vascão, we are also willing to transfer constructive potential to Flamengo. We are talking about a heritage of Rio and Brazil (as much as this irritates me as a Basque fan) and which absurdly does not have its own stadium.”
A RACE AGAINST TIME< /p>
Paes emphasized that the construction of its own stadium for Flamengo is not just a demand from the club, but an appreciation for the region where the project will be carried out, citing as an example the renovation of São Januário, Vasco da Gama's stadium. “The proposed development values the region. Just like Saint Januário renewed! It's a long time of conversation (since the Bolsonaro government) for a sale without any favors. Those who are providing the conditions for the account to be closed are the people of Rio through their city hall”, he declared.
Negotiations for the purchase of the land from Gasologista have been going on for a few years, having been started during the government of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Paes expressed frustration with the delay in resolving the process, noting that for three years he has been reinforcing the same message about the importance of speeding up the sale of the land to allow the city of Rio de Janeiro to move forward. “Let’s get things moving. I've been saying the same thing for 3 years. Let's resolve it and allow the city to move forward”, concluded the mayor in his post on the social network 'X' (formerly Twitter).

Thiago Mendes is Vasco da Gama's new signing. Free on the market after the end of his contract with Al-Rayyan, from Qatar, the midfielder signed a contract with Cruzmaltino for two and a half seasons. The information was initially released by Venê Casagrande and confirmed by sources linked to the club . Despite not having made a recent offer, Flamengo is well aware of the name.

The player is expected this Saturday (05) in Rio de Janeiro to sign a contract until the end of 2027. Vasco's move is surprising due to the timing and the player's profile. At 33 years old, the midfielder arrives with the status of a starter and reference, betting on the experience acquired in Europe and Arab football.

Flamengo secured around R$3 million with the transfer of midfielder Vinícius Souza to Wolfsburg, Germany. The German club paid 15 million euros (approximately R$95.8 million) to acquire the player from Sheffield United, England.
The amount allocated to Rubro-Negro is related to FIFA 's solidarity mechanism, which determines the division of 5% of the total value of international negotiations between the clubs that participated in the athlete's training between the ages of 12 and 23. As Flamengo had the player until he was 21, the amount to which it is entitled is 3.05%.
LINK WITH WOLFSBURG
Officially announced on Wolfsburg's social media, Vinícius Souza was called "Garoto do Ninho" , in reference to his training at Mengão's youth academy. The contract signed with the German club will be valid until 2030, consolidating the new step in the 26-year-old athlete's career.
Vinição's performance, as he is known , throughout his time in Europe was marked by defensive consistency and good positioning, which caught the attention of the Bundesliga club. The expectation is that he will assume a relevant role in the Wolves' midfield in the coming seasons.
INTERNATIONAL CAREER
Born in Padre Miguel, a neighborhood in the west zone of Rio, Vinícius Souza began his career with Mengão's under-15 team in 2014. Promoted to the main squad in 2019, he had his first opportunity in the final minutes of a match in the Campeonato Carioca. That same year, he was part of the historic squad led by Jorge Jesus, winning the Libertadores and Brasileirão titles.
