“I made mistakes and I make a lot of mistakes. I am full of mistakes and limitations. I don't think I'm a good mother, I'm good enough to raise my children as I should. I don't have the gift of joking, and I feel very guilty about it! Anyone who is a mother understands this feeling of being insufficient”, she began.
Maíra recalled the situations she faced after giving birth to Lucas. “I created Lucas at great cost. A 17-year-old girl, taking crowded buses and subways, being 'abused' by rubbing shoulders with sick men, was not optional 25 years ago. I worked to pay the bills of grown-ups. Waking up at 4 am, and studying at night and arriving at midnight to spend the night awake breastfeeding,” she wrote.

We survived, but I didn't have the emotional health to raise him as I should have! Between breastfeeding and a diaper change, he felt more of the salty taste of my tears and the absence of my soul”, said Maíra Cardi.
