Club presented a deficit of R$79.5 million

0After Flamengo presented the balance sheet for the first half of 2024 with deficit of R$79.5 million, the club's Deliberative Council (CoDe) scheduled a meeting for September 11th, Wednesday, to discuss and approve Mais Querido's budget for the period from January to June 2024.
According to the portal 'Coluna do Fla', the proposal of CoDe is to check whether Flamengo's current directors complied with what was approved at the beginning of this year for the first half of the year. Despite the negative result in the period, the expectation of the red and black leadership is that the club will still end the year with a surplus. The main revenues from competition prizes arrive at the club at the end of the year.
President Rodolfo Landim has already approved the club's balance sheet for the period. In the document available on the transparency tab of the official website, despite the deficit of R$79.5 million, the result is considered within normality and the red-black representative signed the letter.
“We ended this first quarter recording an accumulated deficit of R$79.5 million. This result is approximately R$121 million lower than the result for 2Q2023 (positive by R$41.5 million), since the result for that semester was strongly impacted by the sale of the rights to player João Gomes in the beginning of the year window , which generated non-recurring revenue of R$ 103 million.
Better understanding the variation in recurring revenue, which does not include the sale of athletes, a slight reduction can be observed in relation to the same period of the previous year: R$458.8 million in recurring revenue compared to R$469.5 million in 2023, which does not generate long-term concerns, since this performance was due to the occasional reduction in revenue from participation in competitions, since in the previous year we competed in more competitions in the first quarter (Recopa Sul-Americana, Supercopa do Brasil and Club World Cup).
In conclusion, this deficit result in the first semester is natural and expected, due to the typical seasonality of revenues of the football industry. Our current estimate remains of a surplus result in 2024, which will allow us to continue in a sustainable manner, competing for the main places in the competitions in which we participate.”

0Last Tuesday, the candidate for re-election for mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, denied the journalist Ancelmo Gois, from Globo. In a post on Instagram, the mayor informed that the city hall will be responsible for removing the megastructure on the gas meter site, different from what was reported. Furthermore, he guaranteed that Flamengo will have its new stadium, with the best conditions and security.
The news published by Ancelmo informs that Flamengo would have to pay R$100 million to remove a large gas structure present on land acquired by the club, which is owned by CEG and CEG-Rio, which are companies that are part of the gas concessionaire Naturgy.
According to the article, the companies were informed that Flamengo is the responsible for bearing the expenses, as provided for in one of the annexes to the land purchase and transfer contract. The clause, however, does not have a specified limit.
Paes stated that the values for the transfer of the structure are different from what was pointed out in the article by Ancelmo Gois. Furthermore, it exempted Flamengo from any responsibility, and that the city hall has been planning to remove it for years.
“They are making me defend @flamengo more than I would like: let it be clear that this is not the The cost of this transfer and when it happens will be the responsibility of the city of Rio, which knows that this structure cannot be in an area that is already receiving so many residential buildings. It's been in our plans for a long time! Flamengo will have its new stadium there in the gasometer with all the quality and safety that the region demands and deserves. Period!”, published the mayor.
