Brazil's artistic gymnastics is one of the great hopes for a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and Flávia Saraiva, Flamengo athlete, is a fundamental part of the search for the podiums. The athlete attracted attention from a very young age in Fla and the national team, faced injuries and arrived at the Games at her peak.

Standing in gymnastics from a very young age, Flávia was already a Pan-American medalist. American and Youth Olympics when he arrived at Flamengo in 2016, aged just 16. 2024 was full of podiums at stages of the World Cup and at the last tournament before Paris. Now, at 24 years old, the gymnast who always speaks with pride about being a Flamengo athlete is preparing to make another dream come true. Remember your career since arriving at Fla: Flávia Saraiva started gymnastics when she was just eight years old and, at 11, she decided to leave the city of Rio de Janeiro to train in Três Rios, in the south of the state. She trained in a project created by Georgette Vido, historic coach and current coordinator of Flamengo's artistic gymnastics.

The spotlight came naturally, as did call-ups. He made his debut for the Brazilian Senior Team in 2015, already with medals at the World Cup and the Pan-American Games in Toronto. A few months later, she would be invited to go to Gávea to accompany her teammates at the reopening of the Claudio Coutinho Gymnasium. At the beginning of the following year, she would return permanently.

The conversations lasted a few months until March 2016, when the gymnast finally agreed to become a red-and-black athlete. Flávia would also start training at the club alongside Rebeca Andrade and Jade Barbosa.


The young woman not only qualified for the Olympic Games, which earned her a plaque on the gym wall, but also reached the individual beam final and for teams. She came in fifth and eighth place, respectively. Eight years and many medals later, Flávia, Rebeca and Jade are heading to the Olympics to stand on the podium together.

This past Monday (1), Governor Claudio Castro's undersecretary, Victor Travancas, alleged that the City of Rio de Janeiro committed irregularities when expropriating the land from the Gasometer for the future construction of the Rio de Janeiro stadium Mais Querido. While Victor tries to annul the municipal decree, Eduardo Paes blasted the public official.

“Here is the statement: I doubt that the red-black governor, down to the last strand of his hair, Cláudio Castro, agrees with this . I'm sure that if he doesn't retract, this guy will be exonerated”, wrote Eduardo Paes in a publication on the page Paparazzo Rubro-Negro.


Eduardo Paes took a position on the matter shortly after the Mundo Rubro-Negro portal publish that Victor Travancas is moving to try to cancel the expropriation of the land. The state undersecretary believes that there are irregularities in the City Hall's movement to facilitate the construction of the Dearest on site.

“Dear friends, I waited a week for any lawyer , or the Public Ministry, questioned in the Judiciary the illegal procedure of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro for the construction of the Flamengo stadium. As no one had the courage, once again, this humble lawyer, following in the footsteps of Master Sobral Pinto, will sacrifice himself personally and go to court today to annul the Decree of Mayor Eduardo Paes. I count on everyone's support in the fight for Morality”, wrote Travancas to friends, according to the Mundo Rubro-Negro portal.

FLAMENGO'S POSITION

Despite Victor's discontent and the statement by Eduardo Paes, the Flamengohas not yet commented on the case. It is possible that the auction for the Gasometer land will take place in the coming months.

Last Monday night (1), Flamengo's Deliberative Council approved the new uniforms that will be used in 2-25. In a meeting held at the headquarters of Gávea, in Rio de Janeiro, the partners analyzed the Manto presented by Adidas.DETAILS OF THE NEW MANTOS FOR 2025

According to information from the Coluna do Fla portal, the Manto 1 has medium stripes, with details on the red part and black sleeves. The CRF returns to being white and increases a little in size, as does the Adidas brand.

The Manto 2 is predominantly white, with dotted details on the sleeves that simulate the wing to wing of a vulture. The CRF and the Adidas brand are in red.

Manto 3 is also predominantly white, in an off-white tone, with graphics that form the same bands as Manto 1. Adidas stripes on the shoulder will be red and black. The CRF, Adidas Originals brand, name and numbers in gold.


Also according to the portal, one rule was clear: "the advisor who leaks the image of the collection will be warned. The shirts were presented first hand at the meeting of the Deliberative Council. “You are once again warned that any disclosure, by any advisor, whose verification will be carried out at the opportunity, will result in the applicable punishments in the Bylaws”, was one of the messages given at the meeting.

< The order was given due to leaks in past editions of the Flamengo Manto. According to Adidas, when the image is released ahead of schedule, it results in the loss of a considerable financial amount due to falsification.

The countdown to the 2024 Paris Olympics continues at full steam and with 30 days to go until the start of the games, Team Brazil has a strong squad to compete in the competition. With 56 medalists in Olympic and World Games, 24% of the athletes who will represent Brazil have already won important awards in their sports.

“Our delegation will be formed with a mix of renowned names, Olympic or world champions , and young athletes with great potential. Having references in the modalities brings extra strength to the team, which feels more motivated to achieve significant results and break records. I am sure that our athletes will have a great campaign in Paris 2024”, stated the head of mission of the Brazilian delegation Rogério Sampaio.


In total, Brazil has already secured 259 places for the competition. There will be 237 athletes in the Brazilian delegation going to Paris so far, with 137 women and 93 men confirmed. In equestrian, 7 mixed places are still to be defined.


The numbers, which already demonstrate the strength of Team Brazil for the Paris Games, can still grow. The qualification window for the Olympics only closes in the first week of July and the tendency is for medalists from renowned Brazilian sports, such as handball and volleyball, to still join the delegation.
