It seems that the confusion between Marília Mendonça's family and the singer's former cover girl, Lorena Alexandre, is far from over. After the artist gave two interviews about the problems, João Gustavo, the country singer's brother, shared a note, signed by a lawyer, this Wednesday (7), where they accuse Lorena of threatening and disrespecting her fans.

“Since the death of the artist Marília Mendonça, the family has received and supported various types of tributes to the singer's memory. One of the main legacies left by Marília Mendonça was the many passionate fans, generally represented by a central group of fans, the well-known ‘herd’. Most of these fans have a very close relationship with the family and D. Ruth sees each of them as a piece of Marília's story”, the post began.

Then, the family representative continued: “D. Ruth will never allow these fans to be threatened or disrespected, just as was happening on the part of representatives of Mrs. Lorena Alexandre who, not satisfied with the fans' position, started to intimidate and threaten them”, he accused, before completing :

“When they became aware of this, the family came out in defense of Marília's fan clubs and questioned Mrs. Lorena about what she was doing, at which point she started attacking them too”, went off.

The text also mentioned other artists who keep the singer's work alive: “There are several people who pay tribute to Marília, generally characterizing themselves as the artist, but who respect not only her greatest legacy, which They are the fans, as well as seeking permission from the family to use the image and brand, an important way for these people to understand all the principles that must be respected in memory of Marília.”

Soon after, the The statement stated that Marília Mendonça's family does not make any profit from this: “It should be noted that no amount has ever been charged to anyone who pays this type of tribute. Examples of this are: Mariana Brandão (@eumarianabrandao), Juliana Cavalheiro (@julianacavalheiroficial) and Samara Kalil (@samara.kalil). Women who, unlike Mrs. Lorena, pay a beautiful tribute and defend all those values mentioned above.”

Lawyer Robson Cunha, who signed the post, declared that everything is in court: “Finally, It should be noted that legal measures are already being taken and all negotiations on the matter will be taken in the process itself”, he concluded.

This past Tuesday (17), singer Luísa Sonza celebrated the nomination of the song "Chico", made in honor of Chico Moedas, her ex-boyfriend, for the award for Best Song in the Portuguese Language at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards. The artist, who was betrayed by the influencer shortly after the release of the song, responded to a fan's comment about "making music for others".

"That Chico will never be forgotten", said an internet user in the page's comments by the artist, who also received the nomination for Best Contemporary Pop Album in the Portuguese Language with Escândalo Íntimo. "Mercy. I love Luísa, but don't make music for any man anymore, no. They don't deserve you", wrote another.

"Do you still think that songs are made for other people? I'm the one nominated for a Grammy me and nothing anyone says or does will take away the pride I have in having made this song! I genuinely love it and I believe this is one of, if not the best song I've ever made", replied Luísa Sonza.

The singer also added: "As I've said since 'Penhasco', I can't stop writing and blocking the creativity of the moment by someone else, or not releasing it because of a third party, the song in the end will always be about me and my feelings, and I swear that I think this is my greatest asset and is one of the reasons for so much success, I am visceral."

Last Saturday, Chico Moedas enjoyed the shows at Rock in Rio and denied the possibility of checking out Luísa's performance, with whom he had a relationship in 2023, who will open the Palco Mundo on the last day of the event: "That's crazy. I wouldn't see it, I think it's unnecessary, there's no reason", he replied.

Dona Ruth and João Gustavo, mother and brother of Marília Mendonça, made the decision to stop following Maiara and Maraisa on Instagram. The attitude was a response to the singers' refusal to participate in a tribute organized by Spotify to honor Marília, who passed away in November 2021 in a plane crash.

Dona Ruth expressed her feeling in a post on social media : “It is in the moments that we need most that we discover the true friends we know that we can really count on”, he wrote, while the song "Leão", by Marília Mendonça, played in the background.

According to the program “Fofocalizando”, from SBT, the decision not to participate in the tribute came from Maiara. The reason given was that the singer would not have the emotional conditions to perform at the stadium where, together with Marília and Maraisa, she performed with the "Patroas" project shortly before the tragedy that killed Marília Mendonça.

João Gustavo, Marília's brother, confirmed to the program that Maiara and Maraisa were invited to the event. “At this moment we see who is with us and wants to make this legacy continue. Unfollowing speaks for itself”, he declared, demonstrating his disappointment.

TRIBUTE DETAILS

The tribute to Marília Mendonça is scheduled for October 5th, at Allianz Parque, in São Paulo. The event aims to celebrate the career and legacy of the artist, who left a profound mark on country music. The absence of Maiara and Maraisa, who were Marília's close partners in the "Patroas" project, is notable and has generated discussions among fans and the artistic community.

REPERCUSSION

Dona Ruth and João Gustavo's decision to stop following Maiara and Maraisa on social media highlights their frustration and discontent with the situation. The singers' refusal to participate in the tribute, for personal and emotional reasons, raised questions about support and friendship in the artistic world, especially in moments of tribute and remembrance of such beloved figures as Marília Mendonça.
