During a press conference after the goalless draw against LDU, coach Filipe Luís was asked about the possibility of Victor Hugo returning to the squad. On loan to Goztepe in Turkey, the young athlete has ties to the Brazilian club, but according to the coach, there has not yet been any official discussion about his reintegration into the squad.

Filipe Luís vehemently denied any veto on the midfielder's return and stated that he was not even informed about the matter. “It is not true (that I vetoed Victor Hugo's return). He is a player who does not lose the ball”, declared the coach, who also recalled that the athlete was a starter under Sampaoli.
Discovered by Ninho do Urubu, Victor Hugo was promoted to the main team in 2022 and participated in the conquests of the Copa do Brasil and the CONMEBOL Libertadores. That year, he scored three goals and provided four assists in 37 matches . In 2023, he maintained regularity, with 46 matches played. In 2024, however, he had fewer opportunities, entered the field 22 times and did not score any goals, being loaned to Turkish football.
According to Gazeta do Urubu, the midfielder will be tested at Flamengo if he returns. Filipe Luís likes the characteristics of the athlete, who can play the role of right midfielder and has a style similar to Gerson, a midfielder who protects the ball well and is offensive.
At Goztepe, in the second division of Turkey, the player played 29 matches and scored two goals. Despite his experience abroad, his performance was not enough to guarantee a stay in European football. With the end of the loan, the midfielder's future remains uncertain , while rumors about a possible return to the Rio de Janeiro club gain strength behind the scenes.
The player is a product of Mengão's youth academy and is Galo's new signing for the 2025 season after a disappointing stint at Real Madrid.

Atlético-MG made official this Friday (08) the signing of midfielder Reinier , revealed by Flamengo. The 23-year-old player signed a contract valid until December 31, 2029. According to journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira, Mengão consulted the player's representatives, but considered the amounts requested too high for the moment.

Reinier rose to prominence in Brazilian football after being promoted to the professional team in 2019 under Jorge Jesus. That year, he was part of the squads that won the Brasileirão and Libertadores . For Flamengo , the midfielder made 15 appearances, scoring six goals and contributing two assists.
After excelling at Flamengo, he was sold to Real Madrid (ESP), but failed to make the first team. He played on loan at Borussia Dortmund (GER), Girona (ESP), and Frosinone (ITA) before returning to Brazil to play for Atlético-MG.
While Reinier reinforces Galo, Flamengo remains focused on the Brasileirão . This Saturday (09), the team faces Mirassol, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), at Maracanã, for the 18th round. The broadcast will be exclusive to Premiere, via pay-per-view.
