Filipe Luís, former player and current coach of Flamengohas been facing a new challenge outside the four lines. Recognized as one of the great full-backs in the recent history of Brazilian football, Filipe Luís now deals with the responsibilities of leading a professional football team, at one of Brazil's most iconic clubs. However, anyone who thinks that the pressure of the new role intimidates the former athlete is mistaken. In his words, pressure is a fuel that fuels his passion for football and his constant desire to evolve. Filipe Luís is clear in his speech: "About pressure, I love living under pressure. It's what motivates me, what generates this passion that I have."
In charge of Flamengo, Filipe Luís has been dealing with the great challenge of commanding a squad full of stars and expectations. The coach shows confidence when facing the natural pressure that comes from such a passionate fan base and a demanding board. He highlights that being under constant pressure is an integral part of his life and that the absence of it makes him feel uncomfortable. “Now, talking to you here, it's pressure, and I feel comfortable at this moment. I'm more alive than ever”, revealed the coach, emphasizing how this experience keeps him motivated and engaged in his new career.
FLAMENGO HAS ITS GREATEST LOVE
The new role as coach brings a series of demands that go beyond tactics and lineups. Filipe Luís is learning to deal with communication and group management in a totally new way. In his own words, he mentions how challenging it is to learn to speak like a coach in press conferences and manage the expectations of fans and managers. "When I have this here, this demand, of demanding myself to the maximum, of learning, of having to evolve all the time, including speaking like a coach in a press conference, all of this challenges me a lot and makes me evolve as a human being and as a technical", stated Flamengo's coach, demonstrating his determination to grow professionally.
In addition, the trajectory of Filipe Luís at Flamengo, both as a player and now as a coach, reflects his deep understanding of the club and his commitment to the team's success. His speech carries the essence of a true rubro-negro, someone who understands the passion and demands of the fans, and who prepares himself daily to meet these expectations. His accumulated experience as a high-level player, both for the club and for the Brazilian national team, provides him with a solid foundation to understand and face the typical pressures of a big club.
THE CLUB PREPARES FOR THE COMPETITIONS
It is clear that Filipe Luís is not intimidated by changing roles. On the contrary, he sees this phase as an opportunity to continually evolve. Even though he was new to coaching, his experience as a player and his experience with world-renowned coaches shaped his vision of leadership and strategy in football. His commitment to learning and developing his skills, both on and off the field, puts him in a unique position to lead the Flamengo on a successful journey.

Flamengo hosts Mirassol on August 9th, at 6:30 pm , at Maracanã, for the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship . The expectation is a full house, and the club has already made available detailed information about ticket sales for the match, which starts this Sunday (4).
Fan club members have early access and exclusive pricing, depending on their plan and star rating. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on August 6th at 10 a.m. on the club's official platform. Sales at physical locations and in-person pickup of free tickets will begin on the 7th on Flamengo's official website.
Expecting a large crowd at Maracanã, Flamengo is banking on the strength of the nation to remain firmly in the fight for the top spots in the Brasileirão. Mengão leads the championship with 37 points.
Even with Mengão's desire to repatriate the midfielder, the player is showing signs that he intends to stay in Europe, while West Ham is stipulating a millionaire value.

To cap off a busy transfer window led by José Boto, Flamengo is still dreaming of the return of Lucas Paquetá. A product of the club's youth academy, the player has a strong connection with the club, which is seeking to emotionally connect him with a potential return to Rio de Janeiro.
However, the path to this goal isn't straightforward. Lucas Paquetá remains highly valued in European football, and his name was recently linked with a potential trade deal involving Jack Grealish , which would see the Brazilian join Pep Guardiola's Manchester City squad. The deal, while uncertain, demonstrates how highly regarded the player remains on the Old Continent.
On Monday (4), new information emerged about Paquetá's position . According to international media outlets, the player, recently cleared of charges of involvement in sports betting manipulation, is determined to prioritize staying in Europe.
Lucas Paquetá is currently linked to West Ham , where he plays regularly. Despite interest from several clubs around the world, the English team is cautious and is only willing to sell him if a minimum offer of €60 million is reached, which is equivalent to approximately R$382.1 million at the current exchange rate.
The athlete's stance represents a disappointment for Flamengo 's plans, which saw Paquetá as the perfect signing to round out the squad led by Filipe Luís. Despite this, the Rio de Janeiro club continues to monitor the situation and maintains hopes , albeit remote, of facilitating the 27-year-old's return to Brazilian football.
Announced as the fourth signing of the window, the Colombian midfielder is already training with the squad, has signed a four-year contract and could make his debut against Mirassol.

Flamengo officially announced last Saturday (02) the signing of Colombian midfielder Jorge Carrascal, 26, as reinforcement for the rest of the season. He is the fourth name to arrive at the club in this transfer window. After undergoing medical examinations and signing a four-year contract , the player was presented this Monday (04), in a press conference at Ninho do Urubu, where he wore the number 15 shirt for the first time.
To sign the player, the club invested 12 million euros (approximately R$77.1 million) in a deal involving Dynamo Moscow and Atlético-MG . The delay in releasing the documents was due precisely to the fact that it was a triangular transaction, which also included the sale of Galo player Rubens.
Although he's already training with the group and is physically fit to play, Carrascal still needs to be registered with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The midfielder's name must be included in the Daily Information Bulletin (BID) for him to officially debut for the Mais Querido.
The coaching staff, led by Filipe Luís, is evaluating the best time to use the new reinforcement. Internally, there is optimism that the Colombian will be fit for next Saturday's (09) game against Mirassol, for the Brazilian Championship. If the documentation is up to date, Carrascal will be able to play alongside Arrascaeta, expanding Flamengo 's attacking possibilities.
