Flamengo released the financial balance sheet for the first half of 2024. The result presented was not the best, but the club does not create alarm. The red-black had a deficit of R$79 million until June 30th. However, Mais Querido declared that it had R$209.4 million in cash between cash in the current account and fixed income investments, an increase of R$74 million compared to the first quarter.
This amount, however, , was significantly reduced after Flamengo paid the city of Rio de Janeiro the amount of R$ 138.2 million related to the auction of the Gasometer land for the construction of its own stadium. With the purchase, the cash amount increases to R$71.2 million.
In the document, the club states that it still has to pay R$271.7 million for player signings, R$177.8 million of which in short-term debts (which must be paid in the next 12 months starting in July 2024). The remaining R$93.98 million are in installments starting in July 2025. The value is higher than what Flamengo has to receive for sale of players.
According to the presentation, Flamengo stands to receive R$ 208.8 million from the sale of athletes, with R R$165.2 million in short-term payments and R$43.7 in the long term. The club, however, does not heed the alert and expects a better result from the second half of 2024.
The board claims that “due to its strong operational cash generation capacity and the long terms of these payments, this balance presented in 2Q/2024 does not mean that the club needs to sell athletes in equivalent amounts or take out loans.”
Check out the result presented by Clube de Regatas do Flamengo
“We ended this first quarter recording an accumulated deficit of R$79.5 million. This result is approximately R$121 million lower than the result for 2Q2023 (positive by R$41.5 million), since the result for that semester was strongly impacted by the sale of the rights to player João Gomes in the beginning of the year window , which generated non-recurring revenue of R$ 103 million.
Better understanding the variation in recurring revenue, which does not include the sale of athletes, a slight reduction can be observed in relation to the same period of the previous year: R$458.8 million in recurring revenue compared to R$469.5 million in 2023, which does not generate long-term concerns, since this performance was due to the occasional reduction in revenue from participation in competitions, since in the previous year we competed in more competitions in the first quarter (Recopa Sul-Americana, Supercopa do Brasil and Club World Cup).
In conclusion, this deficit result in the first semester is natural and expected, due to the typical seasonality of revenues of the football industry. Our current estimate remains of a surplus result in 2024, which will allow us to continue in a sustainable manner, competing for the main places in the competitions in which we participate.”

With little space in the professional team, the athlete remains in the base of Mais Querido after a new international investment; Pisa's loan proposal was denied

Flamengo has once again been approached by European clubs interested in one of its most talked-about prospects: midfielder Lorran. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, Pisa, recently promoted to the Italian football elite, made a loan offer for the player, but the terms of the negotiation did not please the red-black board, which chose to reject the proposal.
With the decision, the club kept Lorran in the under-20 squad , where he competes in the Brazilian Championship in the category. Despite being away from the main squad, the youngster continues to stand out with good performances and technical moves in training, which continues to arouse the interest of teams outside the country.
Pisa is experiencing a historic moment after securing promotion to Italy's Serie A for the first time in 34 years. Led by Filippo Inzaghi, the team is looking for reinforcements and identified Lorran as an opportunity for young talent to join the squad. However, despite their rising European profile, the deal was not successful.
Other European clubs, such as Lille from France, are also showing interest in the midfielder. Information from the portal “RTI Esportes” reveals that the French club met with José Boto , an executive with a history in European football, to evaluate the viability of a proposal of €15 million (approximately R$96.7 million).
This is not the first time that Lorran's future has been discussed. Earlier this year, the player was very close to a transfer to CSKA in Russia , but the deal was cancelled in the final moments. The Rio de Janeiro club's board also sought a possible loan transfer to Estoril in Portugal, without success.
Negotiations between the Portuguese club and Mais Querido evolve towards a definitive sale; the proposal pleased the board, and the contract is for a three-year term

Flamengo has taken an important step towards finalizing the permanent transfer of midfielder Victor Hugo, 21 , to Famalicão, in Portugal. The Portuguese club has presented a purchase proposal that was considered satisfactory by the red-black board, which has already authorized the player's representatives to define the contract terms with the Europeans.
The expectation is that the contract with Famalicão will be valid for three seasons . The values involved in the negotiation were not revealed. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.
Victor Hugo recently returned to the club after a loan spell at Goztepe in Turkey. The contract with the Turkish club included a buyout clause set at 8 million euros (approximately R$51 million) , but the European team chose not to exercise the option. Without a place in the squad led by Filipe Luís, the player is not part of the plans for the rest of the season.
Initially, Famalicão discussed the possibility of a new loan , but the talks evolved into a permanent transfer, considered the most advantageous solution by Flamengo 's football department.
During his time at Goztepe, Victor Hugo made 35 appearances, starting 12 of them, and scored three goals. He was involved in the team's eighth-place finish in the national league and also in the team's run to the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup, ending his spell with a stoppage-time goal against Kasimpasa on May 30.
