0Bruno Spindel, the club's director of football, has demonstrated a diverse approach in building his squad. In an exclusive interview, Spindel highlighted that the club's policy is not tied to exorbitant values or European geography. For Flamengo, looking at the continent itself is a solid strategy. Signing South American players is a practice that has proven to be effective. Names like Arrascaeta and Bruno Henrique, both from South America, reinforce the view that talent knows no borders.
Flamengo's foray into North American Major League Soccer (MLS) highlights its search for talent in different parts of the globe. Luiz Araújo, a name that gained prominence in MLS, is a concrete example of this global perspective. The Rio club understands that the quality of the player is not limited only to traditional European leagues.
Contrary to the logic that associates big clubs with big numbers, Flamengo also invests in low-cost players. A notable example is the acquisition of Fabricio Bruno, a player who, even with a more modest investment, contributed to the team's success. Spindel highlights that the club is not guided solely by market values, but rather by the effective contribution that each player can offer.
Flamengo's football director is emphatic in stating that the club has no bias in your choices. Hiring policy is not shaped by external influences, such as pressure from businesspeople. “Flamengo does the planning and goes after the players that interest Flamengo and whoever the manager is,” says Spindel. This approach highlights the club's independence in decision-making, ensuring that choices align with Flamengo's goals and values.
Bruno Spindel's report highlights a holistic approach in building Flamengo's squad. Investing in players of different profiles, origins and costs is a strategy that aims to strengthen the team in a comprehensive way. The search for talent goes beyond European borders, demonstrating that Flamengo is attentive to the global football scene. With an independent stance from external influences, the club reinforces its commitment to excellence and building a solid team for the challenges that arise.

Last Monday (16), Rodolfo Landim anticipated and passed on the Mantle with the new number to the Uruguayan in a video call

0The elected president of Flamengo, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, took office this Wednesday (18). Before the ceremony to make the inauguration official, Bap met with journalists and raised the tone when he was asked about Rodolfo Landim having given up the club's number 10 shirt to Arrascaeta. In the view of the future president, the decision came at the wrong time and caused Rubro-Negro to lose millions of reais.
"Two years ago, I brought this idea to the club's president: number 10 should be Arrascaeta. I always said. But the answer was: “it's early, Diego will be with the team for a long time.” Guys, it's not now.” (And I said:) “but look, president, when Arrascaeta gets number 10, we're going to sell a million shirts.” the name of Arrascaeta. Make Mercado Livre deliver, 24 hours a day, Arrascaeta shirts to all of Brazil ", said Bap
"Two years later, we deliver the 10 to Arrascaeta, there is no size G shirt in the stores, no store knew about it (about the change in number), no we have the number 10 shirt with his name to sell. I estimate that Flamengo left 10 to 12 million on the table with this type of attitude, (I say) he deserves the 10, he already defended it. that. Doing it this way is amateurish and burns money unnecessarily. It's a shame, but it's done", added Luiz Eduardo Baptista.
How did it happen?
In May, Gabigol lost Flamengo's number 10 shirt after appearing at a barbecue wearing a Corinthians shirt. As a form of punishment, the board, through the vice-president of football, Marcos Braz, decided to strip the attacker of the club's most emblematic mantle
However, 10 remained without an owner for the remainder of the season. In this month of December, in an interview with ge, Arrascaeta said that he would wait for the shirt in 2025. However, last Monday (16), Rodolfo Landim anticipated and passed the Manto to the Uruguayan.
Landim's last act
Therefore, by giving up the number 10 shirt to Arrascaeta, Landim has his last act as president of Flamengo. This is because Luiz Eduardo Baptista takes office this Wednesday (18), at an event in Gávea. Bap will lead the club from 2025-2027.

0Luiz Eduardo Baptista, recently installed as president of Flamengo, addressed the challenges faced due to the delay in the transition of mandate. According to him, the nine-day delay between the election and inauguration hampered the club's planning, especially during the most important transfer window in Brazilian football.
"It's like starting a race and staying in the pits. You can even talk, but you don't have the pen to close with athletes. >," stated Baptista in a press conference held at the Gávea headquarters.
CAST EVALUATION AND PLANNING FOR 2025
The new president highlighted that the focus is on evaluating the cast and planning for the next season. With a calendar of 85 games scheduled for 2025, Baptista emphasized the need to resize the use of athletes and make specific signings.
"The squad is strong, but we have to consider possible negotiations and injuries. The work with technical director José Boto and coach Filipe Luís is already underway, and the goal is to adjust the needs of the team to seek titles next year," he declared.
QUALITY CAST AND PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN BOTO AND FILIPE LUÍS
Despite the obstacles, Baptista showed optimism with the squad Mengão. He praised the group assembled by the previous management and stated that recent hires provide room for strategic adjustments in 2025.
" The practical transition begins now, but the concept and vision of what we want are already aligned. We are far from ideal, but we have a solid foundation to work on and achieve the expected results," added the president.
