The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games starts this Friday- fair (26), but the 2024 edition of the event has already started with football and 7-a-side rugby, both in the men's category, on Wednesday (24). One of the biggest medal expectations for Brazil is artistic gymnastics, which has five Flamengo athletes in the country's delegation (four in the women's and one in the men's).
This Wednesday, through social media, Rubro-negro released videos with messages from the club's gymnasts who will represent Brazil in Paris. See below:
Diogo Soares
“This edition of the Games Paris Olympics we will try to improve participation. I was in Tokyo, I was the youngest on the team, I was going to gain Olympic experience and experience, to be among the best in the world. I took everything I learned in Tokyo and used it to work during these years until I arrived in Paris, and I will definitely arrive better than I arrived in Tokyo. I'm going to try to be among the top 10 in the world in the individual all-around. Any opportunity I have to take a final on the fixed or parallel bar, I will be prepared. The general individual is our focus. If everything goes much better than we expect, we want to be in the top five”, said Diogo.

As the years went by, we built many things within gymnastics, becoming even more physically and mentally mature to overcome obstacles. After a strong performance in the transfer market, Mengão director admits to trying to get a star player from the yellow jersey and hopes to get another opportunity.

Flamengo remains active behind the scenes to assemble a competitive squad for the start of the next Brazilian volleyball season. With new investments in the project, the club is targeting a key reinforcement: opposite Rosamaria, a standout player for the Brazilian national team and one of the country's top players.

In response to a fan on social media who called for the athlete's signing, Flamengo 's director of Olympic sports, Marcus Vinícius Freire, admitted the red-and-black's desire: "Our wish too. This year we tried, but we couldn't make it happen . Who knows next year?" he declared.
Rosamaria is considered one of Brazil's top volleyball players today . A key player for the national team, she was a key player in the 2022 World Cup runner-up finish and won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She has also finished runner-up in the Nations League three times.
Currently, the opposite hitter plays for Denso Airybees in Japan, where she recently renewed her contract. An idol of the Asian team, she will play her sixth season with the club , but Mengão continues to monitor the developments in the Brazilian national team's career.

Former player and idol of Flamengo basketball Olivinha announced this Tuesday (09) that he will not continue on Flamengo TV. Since October 2024, he worked as a commentator on the club's official channel , but confirmed the end of the contract through social media.

In the message , Olivinha thanked him for the opportunity to work in communications, highlighted what he learned during the experience, and explained that there was no agreement to renew his contract . Despite this, he emphasized that he will continue to follow and support Flamengo TV as a fan.

Olivinha officially retired in June 2024 at the age of 41, ending more than two decades in professional basketball. In Brazil, in addition to his remarkable career with Flamengo, he also played for Pinheiros , where he won the 2011 São Paulo State Championship. Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid, MVP of the 2022/23 NBA season, once again demonstrated his affection for Flamengo . Last Thursday (21), the Cameroonian player was spotted in an official club store, in Cabo Frio (RJ) , where he made a point of purchasing several red-black products.
Although unusual, Embiid's presence in the Lakes Region has a reason. Married to Brazilian model Anne de Paula, the athlete often visits the city, where his father-in-law lives, during the holidays. This time, he took the opportunity to explore the "Nação Rubro-Negra" store and expand his Flamengo memorabilia collection.
The star's arrival took everyone by surprise and caused great excitement among the employees.
