João Gustavo spoke to the 'SPLASH' column about the news that came out this Wednesday (04) about the inquiry investigating the accident that took the life of Marília Mendonça, his sister. The Civil Police of Minas Gerais reached a conclusion about those responsible for the plane crash two years ago, but decided to close the case without punishment. The two pilots are to blame, but the need to proceed with the process was not seen because both also lost their lives in the aviation accident.
The Flamengo fan's brother, however, told journalist Lucas Pasin that he thought justice had not been done! "We think it was comfortable for them to blame the pilots and exempt the Minas Gerais energy company. They themselves blamed themselves by signaling the high voltage wires after the accident. That's a fact, and there are no arguments against facts," he explained.
he also pointed out how the lack of explanations from the Military Police was damaging to his family, who remain in doubt: "There was a lack of transparency." This way, Marília's relatives will not remain silent on the matter and will demand answers, to get what they think the country girl deserves.
"As soon as the investigation is handed over to the judiciary, we will follow up and ask certain questions that have not yet been answered. My mother, like me, expects clear and objective answers. We believe that justice has not yet been made and the case was not resolved", said João.
Robson Cunha, lawyer representing Mendonça's family, said that the conclusion of the PCMG (Civil Police of Minas Gerais) investigation presents a "direction towards hold the crew responsible for the accident".
He explained: "What leaves us with more doubts than answers is the fact that "shallow" arguments regarding the occurrence were presented. The delegate responsible did not demonstrate efforts to present expert evidence capable of overcoming common and media allegations about the case".
