The journey in search of the fourth Libertadores championship will begin next Tuesday (02), when Flamengo will face Millionarios (COL) in the first round of Group E. In the Colombian media, the possibility of victory for the Bogotá team it is described as a 'batacazo' (something similar to a 'big coup'). The newspaper ‘El Tiempo’ highlighted Mengão as the big favorite to win the title.

“Millonarios will look to make an impact in Bogotá, overcoming the absolute favorite of the group. Furthermore, Flamengo is the main candidate to win the Libertadores. There are two factors that make him a favorite: he has a coach with vast experience like Tite, who knows the feeling of winning the tournament, as he did with Corinthians in 2012 and as coach of the Brazilian team”, highlighted the newspaper 'El Tiempo'.< /p>

“In addition, it has renowned continental players, such as Bruno Henrique, David Luiz, Everton (Cebolinha), Giorgian de Arrascaeta, Nicolás de la Cruz and Gabriel Barbosa. The Flamengo squad costs six times more than the Millonarios squad. It is a very challenging mission for coach Alberto Gamero but, in football, nothing is certain”, added the Colombian portal.

'El Tiempo' used data from the specialized website 'Transfermarkt' to illustrate the disparity between the casts. According to the portal, the red-black group has a market value of 164 million euros, the second largest in the Libertadores, behind only Palmeiras (220 million euros). While Millonarios has a value of 27 million euros.

On Flamengo's side, Pedro is the most valuable player, with a cost of 22 million euros, almost the total value of Millonarios. In second place is Arrascaeta, with 15 million euros. The most 'expensive' players on the Colombian team are goalkeeper Álvaro Montero and defender Andrés Llinás (the latter, vetoed by the medical department), both with a value of 2.6 million euros.

Léo Ortiz made his debut in the Flamengo. This is because the defender was the scorer of Mais Querido in the victory against Palestino (CHI) last Wednesday (10). Thus, the defender participated in FlaTV's "Game Review" section and spoke about his first goal.

“It's a place I like to attack on set pieces, there on the first stick. It's no secret to anyone, at my old club I did this very well. It's a place I like to attack, Lorran also realized that he had an advantage in the first half, they didn't defend that well there and I was able to have the speed and reading to get ahead of the marker”, said Léo Ortiz.

LÉO ORTIZ REVEALS THAT IT WAS HIS BEST DEBUT

The defender also says that this was the best debut in his career. Now, the player is hoping to remain in the starting lineup in the match against Atlético GO, next Sunday (14).

“It was my first goal on debut. In other words, my main career debut. As a professional for Internacional I gave an assist, at Red Bull Bragantino I took a ball over the line and this time, for Flamengo, I came away with the goal. So everything went perfect, with a victory, which was very celebrated by us”, he added.

LÉO TALKS ABOUT ANXIETY FOR THE PREMIERE

“A The anxiety was very high (to debut). Of course, I had to keep my head steady and prepared, especially on a daily basis, be working and know that the moment could come. But I had to be prepared for it. Of these five games, four were at Maracanã, so it was also important for me to know what it was like to wear the Flamengo shirt, to be there”, he concluded.

NEXT MATCH

In this way, with Léo Ortiz at his disposal, Tite will lead this Friday (12) the second day of training for the Mais Querido aiming to debut in the Brazilian Championship. Next Sunday (14), Flamengo and Atlético GO face each other at Serra Dourada, at 4pm.

Flamengo won the match against Palestino (CHI) for Copa Libertadores of America last Wednesday (10) and approached a historic record in the competition. If Mais Querido wins the next two matches of the continental tournament, it will become the club with the best winning percentage in the history of the competition.

According to statistics, with 98 wins in 172 games, Rubro -Negro has a 56.97% success rate in the competition, which currently places him with the second highest success rate in the entire history of the Libertadores. The current record is held by Cruzeiro, with 57.22%, which is not competing in the most important tournament in America this year.

Third place is Palmeiras, which currently has a 56.17% success rate. It is worth noting that the numbers consider clubs with more than one participation in the competition. In this sense, Mengão actually has one of the lowest percentages of defeats in the Libertadores.

The Red- Negro lost 22.09% of the games, behind Bahia (21.4%), Tigres-MEX (20.58%) and León-MEX (20%), who played, respectively, three, four and twice the Liberators. In other words, with 20 participations, Flamengo can be considered as the team with the lowest average number of defeats in the continental tournament.

Mais Querido has several important records in the competition, which demonstrate its enormous tradition in the Copa Libertadores. Flamengo holds the title for the largest home audience in a single edition, having registered a total of 516,382 spectators in the six games it played at Maracanã in 1981, when it became champion for the first time in its history.

Another record is having the best performance in a single edition of Libertadores. The incident occurred in 2022, when Rubro-Negro became three-time champion of America under the command of Dorival Júnior and had a 94.87% success rate, with 13 games, 12 victorias and only a draw. It is also worth mentioning that Flamengo scored goals in all of the last 30 matches played in the Libertadores, with the sequence starting on July 14, 2021 and continuing until last Wednesday's clash (10), against Palestino.< /p>
