Mariana Ximenes returns to prime time on TV Globo, after 14 years, as a new villain! The actress plays Isis, in "Mania de Você", which premieres this Monday (9), at 9pm. The character grew up in a community close to a luxury condominium and saw her life take a huge turn after marrying Henrique (Antonio Saboia), heir to a bank.

The couple had Tomás (Miguel Bottini/Paulo Mendes), who has a difficult relationship with his mother. She is still Guga’s (Allan Souza Lima) lover. The artist is excited about her new role.

"I like complex characters, which have many layers, because there is never a sovereign character without mistakes. She makes mistakes, she is deceived too, so this game is enjoyable", highlights Mariana, who gave life to the con artist Gilda in "Amor Perfeito" (2013). The actress recognizes that, despite the evils, her characters have nuances and are human. "My character is now a villain who ends up falling for a scam, but that's very interesting too", she believes.

About the difference between playing girls and villains, Mariana assesses: "It's good to play a girl, like in 'Chocolate com Pimenta', which was a milestone in my career, but it's great to explore villains too. When we try different things in life, it's like opening drawers." She also emphasizes that she likes roles that challenge her real characteristics. "I look like a girl in real life, but I love playing a villain. I like playing evil", she jokes.

This is the third professional partnership between Ximenes and author João Emanuel Carneiro, famous for his plots full of twists and turns. The two have already worked together in "A Favorita" (2008), in which the actress played Lara, and "Cobras & Lagartos" (2006), as Maria Isabel Gonçalves Pasquim, known as Bel. "We're friends and I'm ready for what should be," she snaps.

'I feel fulfilled'

With a 26-year career, Mariana starred in soap operas such as "Fascinação" (1998), "Andando nas Nuvens" (1999 ), "Force of a Desire" (2000), "The Patroness" (2001), "The House of Seven Women" (2003), "America" (2005), "Passione" (2010), "Rare Jewel" ( 2013), "Haja Coração" (2016) and "Nos Tempos do Imperador" (2021), as well as plays and countless films.

She shares her satisfaction with her professional career and the choices she made over the years. "It's a very good moment in my career. I feel fulfilled to be working with great professionals and exploring such rich characters", he emphasizes.

A new lifestyle

At 43 years old, Ximenes also comments on the changes in his body after adopting a new routine and losing 6 kg. "Now I've made it a priority to exercise, whether outdoors or at the gym. I prefer outdoors, but I'm managing to fit it into my schedule however I can", says the actress, who takes advantage of the time between recordings to meditate and maintain her focus. "I'm healthier, and that's the most important thing. It wasn't just a question of aesthetics, but of well-being", she adds.

Regarding her plan to become a mother, Mariana states that she remains firm and strong. "I really want to, motherhood is part of my plans, I froze my eggs and at the right time it will happen."

This past Tuesday (17), singer Luísa Sonza celebrated the nomination of the song "Chico", made in honor of Chico Moedas, her ex-boyfriend, for the award for Best Song in the Portuguese Language at the 2024 Latin Grammy Awards. The artist, who was betrayed by the influencer shortly after the release of the song, responded to a fan's comment about "making music for others".

"That Chico will never be forgotten", said an internet user in the page's comments by the artist, who also received the nomination for Best Contemporary Pop Album in the Portuguese Language with Escândalo Íntimo. "Mercy. I love Luísa, but don't make music for any man anymore, no. They don't deserve you", wrote another.

"Do you still think that songs are made for other people? I'm the one nominated for a Grammy me and nothing anyone says or does will take away the pride I have in having made this song! I genuinely love it and I believe this is one of, if not the best song I've ever made", replied Luísa Sonza.

The singer also added: "As I've said since 'Penhasco', I can't stop writing and blocking the creativity of the moment by someone else, or not releasing it because of a third party, the song in the end will always be about me and my feelings, and I swear that I think this is my greatest asset and is one of the reasons for so much success, I am visceral."

Last Saturday, Chico Moedas enjoyed the shows at Rock in Rio and denied the possibility of checking out Luísa's performance, with whom he had a relationship in 2023, who will open the Palco Mundo on the last day of the event: "That's crazy. I wouldn't see it, I think it's unnecessary, there's no reason", he replied.
