The Flamengo has been studying the possibility of building a stadium in Gasologista. To achieve this, the first step is to convince Caixa of a good project and arrange the purchase of the land.
Although the project is still "in the oven", it is enough to make rivals despair.
FEAR OF RIVALS
< On the Jovem Pan program, journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira says that there are a lot of terrified people, and not only in the fans of rival teams, but also in the sports press. This is because a stadium enables even greater growth for the club, leveraging the fan membership program and box office revenue.
“This subject is a big deal because there are a lot of people terrified about the possibility of Flamengo having a stadium . There are people who are pulling their hair out, pulling their pants over their heads. Because you know the power of the club, see the case of Palmeiras after Allianz Parque, how it grew in fan membership, how the club grew. There is a fear among rival fans and people in the media that Flamengo will have its stadium. Because it can be stronger sportingly, if it is well built”, he says, before adding:
“The Maracanã is a steal. In addition to all the issues regarding the condition, bad acoustics, fans are far away, it is a stadium built by Mrs. FIFA for the World Cup. People know that this can greatly strengthen the club, which is far ahead in financial matters”, he concludes.
MAURO CRITICIZES FLAMENGO'S ACTION
O More Dear looks for Caixa at the right time in 2024, already with an idea project to present and try to purchase the land. However, Mauro criticizes the fact that the club approached Caixa last year, when it did not have the ideal project to discuss.
“It was a mistake to have approached Caixa before without having an idea. This is generating losses for Caixa. This is a step, but a first step, not a big step. If Flamengo, in fact, goes up now, then I think the stadium will go away. There will be a new president next year, so it's difficult to say. But if you buy the land, it will come out,” he says. P>

Mengão's CEO denies intention to sell the number 9 after the Club World Cup, reveals rejection of Qatar's offer and praises the player's recovery

Flamengo's executive director of football, José Boto , spoke publicly for the first time about the controversy surrounding Pedro after the Club World Cup. The Portuguese director denied that the club had any intention of negotiating the number 9 , despite a leaked screenshot from a member of the football department suggesting otherwise.
In an interview with "UOL," Boto revealed that Flamengo rejected an offer of approximately $18 million from Qatar for the striker. He also said that the entire controversy helped Pedro dedicate himself more to training:
"There was never any intention to sell. It was a time when Pedro wasn't being used. But there was no intention to sell for any price other than what we knew Pedro was worth. Everything was done to ensure he achieved the performance he delivers to the team today. We are very pleased with this performance," the director stated.
Pedro's situation was further debated after Filipe Luís publicly criticized the player's performance in training. At the time, the striker and his staff considered leaving Flamengo . However, Pedro met with the squad, acknowledged his declining performance, and turned things around, regaining his starting spot.
For Boto, the episode had a positive impact on the number 9's recent trajectory. " The most important thing is that everything that was said, everything that was said, everything that was made public about Pedro, resulted in a different Pedro. A Pedro who helps Flamengo a lot and helps himself grow as a player. Everything else is normal stuff that happens at clubs," the director assessed.
