Flamengo is getting closer every day to taking the project off the ground dream of your own stadium. Therefore, the debate about the SAF grows every day. For president Rodolfo Landim, the achievement involves directly selling part of the club. However, the issue has become a target of concern in the corridors of Gávea.

If Landim is completely in favor of the project, the opposition and even allies are moving against it. Some see it as "zero chance" of passing, as the majority does not agree. Groups of advisors made an amendment proposal "to avoid legal uncertainty in the possible modification process" of Flamengo on this topic. They have already obtained more than 50 necessary signatures.

But what is already known about the subject? Why does Landim want the SAF?

Rodolfo Landim makes no secret of being in favor of the SAF. He, however, wants it in a different way than what currently exists in Brazilian football. The president has supported the idea that a possible sale of 25% of a red-black SAF controlled by the association would allow the club to build its own stadium without losing competitiveness in football and/or increasing debt with loans.

The agent spoke to possible investors from outside Brazil. He claims to have interested companies. The Bayern Munich model is seen today as the ideal. The proposed SAF model would also not allow owner-partners to sell their securities as if they were company shares.

Would Landim have a stake in SAF?

Would Landim have a stake in SAF? The current president of Flamengo states that, if necessary, he would sign a document committing himself not to be CEO of the eventual company. He, however, wants to stay at the club and announced that he is a pre-candidate for the presidency of the Deliberative Council.

Would the SAF have control over football?

Rodolfo Landim rules out any transfer of control of footballwhich would continue with the club: "Of course not", he told the portal UOL, in December 2023.

What do the possible candidates say?

The candidates for the next election are not all defined yet, but there are three names emerging: Rodrigo Dunshee, supported by Landim, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Bap, and Maurício Gomes de Mattos. The three spoke out against a possible SAF at the club.

The majority of Flamengo's political groups are against the idea of SAF. Landim has already opened the club for lectures, carried out studies and visited European clubs that can be a model in the matter.

How much would a stadium cost?

The current projection from the board is that, between land and construction, Flamengo would spend around R$2 billion. Landim believes that building this arena with resources that are not obtained from a SAF could bring the club into disrepute.

Why couldn't a stadium project be carried out with a separate company?< /b>

"If we created a separate company in the stadium, what would happen to this company? Any economic result that this company would have would be divided between Flamengo and this partner. A partner who wanted to enter the stadium, would certainly enter the stadium to make money and to share the economic result with Flamengo. As for a partner to participate in a SAF, which we saw in the example of Bayern Munich, these are companies that have a strategic interest in being in that. that Bayern's SAF was created, continues to be controlled by the club and has three members", said Landim.

What would the SAF vote be like?

This It is a topic that raises doubts even among counselors. For some, it would require a simple majority in the General Assembly (that is, all members with voting rights). Others believe that it would be a simple majority only in the Deliberative Council.

What does the opposition say?

The proposal from March this year suggests that the Council Deliberative has the possibility of adapting the statute and creating stricter rules for the approval of a SAF, which would need to be voted on at the General Assembly, with qualified quorums for deliberation and voting for approval.

The document wants to include that Elected and appointed directors of the association who held positions in the club in the 36 months preceding the approval of the SAF and constitution are prevented from assuming any management or administrative positions in the new society for a period of six years.

Regarding quorums, the decision at the General Assembly would be approved by a decision of two thirds of the members present. However, a minimum presence of 60% of all members of the general assembly would be required.

Voting in the Deliberative Session could only be approved by a decision of two thirds of the councilors present. There would also be a minimum presence of 60% of Council members.

This is not the first time that the club has published something against the articles by Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper O Globo

Flamengo released a statement on Monday night (23) refuting the news published by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper ‘O Globo’, about a supposed new muscle problem for striker Gabigol. According to the club, the information is false and Gabigol is training normally with the rest of the team, and is even involved in the game against Peñarol (URU) in the Libertadores.

Now, in the early afternoon of this Tuesday, Flamengo released another note, once again clarifying what for the club, is yet another false news from the journalist from the newspaper "O Globo". This time Diogo Dantas' article refers to Fla's supposed interest in Luís Castro, former Botafogo coach who was in Saudi Arabia.

The club's note follows in full:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo is appalled by the stance of journalist Diogo Dantas, from Jornal O Globo. Subsequently, he publishes lying articles involving the institution's professionals, clearly without no type of critical sense and with freedom from superiors.

Incredibly, he repeated the pattern a few hours after an official note addressing yet another of his daily fake news and without any type of warning in a vehicle of such size relevance.

We clarify that coach Luís Castro has never spoken to any Rubro-Negro manager and even less is the subject of “changing coaches for 2025” on the agenda. Such a scenario does not exist and once again disrespects everyone. the professionals and family members involved in the day-to-day life of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.

We warn our fans to avoid using vehicles responsible for false articles on a daily basis. We are in favor of press freedom, but we cannot tolerate the lack of commitment to the truth and the targeted attacks promoted by the journalist.

Finally, we regret that Jornal O Globo, a traditional outlet that already had so many good responsible journalists in relevant positions, today we highlight a professional who fails to tell the truth on a daily basis and does not suffer any type of consequence. "
