The Federal Police (PF) indicted, last Monday (14/4), Flamengo striker Bruno Henrique and ten other people for involvement in a fraud scheme in sports competitions. The information was released by the portal "Metrópoles".
During the investigation, the Federal Police found messages on the cell phone of Wander Nunes Pinto Júnior, the player's brother, that allegedly put Bruno Henrique directly involved in the betting scheme. According to the website, the striker was indicted for the crimes of fraud and manipulation of sports results.
According to the GE portal, it had access to the Federal Police report and released some prints of the alleged conversations between Bruno Henrique and his brother (cover image of the article).
In total, 3,989 conversations from Bruno Henrique's WhatsApp were analyzed and many of them were apparently deleted or had no content. According to investigators, this could indicate that the player had deleted some of the messages. However, it was through his brother's cell phone that the agents were able to identify possible compromising dialogues.
In the report, there is this (image below) conversation between the player and Wander from August 29, 2023, two months before the match against Santos.
“Uncle, do you have 2 cards in Brazil?”
In response, the attacker wrote: “Yes.”
Wander continues: “When [the] people tell you to take the 3, call us, ok? LOL”
Bruno Henrique answers: “Against Santos”.
Next, Wander writes: “How many weeks from now?”
Bruno Henrique: “Look there on Google”
Wander: “October 29th”, “I wonder if you’ll be able to stay until then without a card, lol”
Bruno Henrique: “I won’t complain”, “Only if I go hard on someone”
Wander then replies: “Good, I’m going to save the money and invest successfully.”
On October 7 , a new exchange of messages between the brothers was about receiving the card, according to the police. On the same day, Flamengo faced Corinthians in the 26th round of the Brasileirão.
