The La Paz team traded striker Chico da Costa to Cerro Porteño (PAR) for 2 million dollars (R$ 11 million at current prices). The transfer of the top scorer could make Flamengo's life easier in the competition.

Chico is the team's top scorer in the Libertadores, with five goals. One of them, including, against Flamengo itself, in Bolívar's 2-1 victory, in La Paz, in the first phase. The good performance of the Brazilian striker caught the attention of Grêmio, who investigated the situation, but did not make the proposal official. Chico's departure is a significant blow for Bolívar.

According to the Coluna do Fla portal, Cerro Porteño will pay 2 million dollars. Of this money, 1.5 million (R$8.2 million) will go to Bolívar and 500 thousand dollars (R$2.8 million) will go to the player's attacker and staff. This transaction is one of the largest in Bolívar's recent history.

For the three years of contract, the attacker will receive 2 million dollars. In other words, something approximately R$300 thousand per month. At Cerro Porteño, the Brazilian will meet a former Flamengo athlete, the 2019 Libertadores champion midfielder Robert Piris da Motta, which could help with his adaptation.

At Cerro Porteño, Chico da Costa will be able to meet his club where it was revealed. After all, the Paraguayan team will face Athletico-PR in the playoffs of the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana. The first game takes place on July 18th, in Assunção, with the return scheduled for the 25th of the same month, in Curitiba. The 29-year-old striker played for the team from Paraná between 2013 and 2015. The move to Cerro Porteño means that Chico da Costa is out of the two games against Flamengo in the round of 16 of the Libertadores. The first leg takes place at Maracanã, on August 15th, and the return trip is scheduled for August 22nd, at the Hernando Siles Stadium, at the altitude of La Paz.
