At Flamengo, the coach values versatile players, who have multiple capabilities and put the team above all else. Recently, Carlos Alcaraz and Gonzalo Plata have stood out in this context. The club's coach, in his interviews, demonstrated great satisfaction with both, emphasizing their unique characteristics and willingness to adapt to the team's needs.
PLATA AND ALCARAZ ARE SEEN LIKE PEARLS IN FLAMENGO
Carlos Alcaraz is a clear example of a player with ambition and hunger for growth. The coach stated that Alcaraz did not express a clear preference for position on the field, but highlighted that his characteristics suggest a tendency to play a little more advanced. The athlete's tactical flexibility is seen as a positive point, and his dedication on the field draws the attention of the coaching staff. Alcaraz's ability to adapt and always be willing to help team is a quality that pleases the coach. This characteristic, combined with his ambition, promises a future of growth within the club.
In the case of Gonzalo Plata, the coach highlighted his ability to operate in different sectors of the field. Plata competes directly with players like Bruno Henrique and Michael for the position on the left wing, but his best version is admittedly on the right, where he competes for space with Gerson. However, the coach does not restrict Plata to just these roles. He sees the player's potential to act as a center forward, due to his speed, ability to handle the ball and efficiency when attacking spaces. Plata has the necessary qualities to be a reference striker, but it requires time and work to perfect the movements characteristic of this position.
FLAMENGO SHOWS PRECIOSISM
The versatility of Alcaraz and Plata reveals a valued characteristic in the Flamengo squad: the presence of players who are true “wild cards” for the team. According to the coach, the existence of these athletes allows for a greater range of tactical and alternative possibilities during matches. Alcaraz and Plata stand out in this sense, as they adapt well to different roles, which is fundamental to the success of a team in search of achievements. The mentality of both players to always be available to help, regardless of their role, is a reflection of their commitment to the club.
Another relevant point highlighted by the coach is the importance of giving players minutes on the field, in order to build confidence. Plata, for example, has been receiving constant opportunities and, in the last match, he had an excellent performance, according to the coach. These minutes on the field are essential for athletes like Plata to gain confidence and consolidate their role in the team. Practical experience helps Plata understand the movements that a center forward must perform and allows the coach to adjust the details so that the player can explore his full potential in different positions.
