Last Tuesday night (16), the Flamengo Deliberative Council voted to purchase land next to the Ninho do Urubu Training Center. The red-black body unanimously approved the financial plan for the acquisition of the 10 thousand square meter area for R$ 4.5 million.

Thus, with the approval of the Deliberative Council, Mais Querido is free to be able to use part of the money from the sale of apartments in Morro Viúva, in the South Zone of Rio, to pay for the land. This is because the council authorized the use of R$2.5 million generated by the sale of properties. In other words, the other R$2 million can be taken from the red and black coffers.

The land is 10,106 square meters in size. Remembering that the area is located right next to Ninho do Urubu, on Rua Frei Martinho, in Vargem Grande. Thus, the space is part of Flamengo's plan to renovate and expand the club's CT structures.

OTHER LAND ALREADY PURCHASED

It is worth remembering that Rubro-Negro had already acquired another area in the region. This is because, in 2023, the club purchased a space measuring 19,348 square meters, for R$8.1 million, also with approval from the Deliberative Council.

APARTAMENTOS NO MORRO DA VIÚVA

In August 2023, the Deliberative Council approved the sales contract for the 44 apartment units in the Morro da Viúva condominium. Thus, the club projected that the values involving the development in the area where the club's first headquarters was located could reach R$ 177 million.

Essential for child development, breast milk is considered by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the “golden food”, giving rise to Golden August, a month to encourage breastfeeding. Thus, to reinforce support for the campaign, Flamengo's Social Responsibility department took, last Tuesday (27), water polo athlete Duda Martins, who is 26 weeks pregnant, and the club's mascots to meet the Maria Amélia Buarque de Holanda Municipal Maternity, a reference in humanized care for pregnant women, in the center of Rio.

As part of the activity program, the athlete received guidance on the breastfeeding process and the importance of breast milk in child development and in building bonds together with other pregnant and postpartum women cared for by the maternity ward.

“Flamengo's presence here today is extremely important because all actions aimed at Agosto Dourado aim to support, promote and increasingly encourage breastfeeding. Encouraging breastfeeding on demand, increasing breastfeeding time allows society to understand the real benefit that human milk has for both babies and mothers”, said Carla Navarrete, coordinator of the Nutrition and Dietetics Service at the Maternity Hospital and president of the Unit's Breastfeeding Committee.

“Visiting the Maria Amélia maternity ward was an incredible experience, I could see that the maternity ward is really very intense. I answered questions, learned and prepared myself a little more, and had contact with other pregnant women. Each of us had different doubts and fears, which were fully welcomed by the team that welcomed us. It was a pleasure to be part of Flamengo's social responsibility action”, said athlete Duda Martins.

Production assistant Josiane Portugal, who is also pregnant and undergoes prenatal care at the maternity ward, added. “Today I learned that only breast milk is enough and no other milk is needed for the child to grow up healthy. I loved Flamengo's presence here today. I'm a Flamengo fan, my family is Flamengo fan and I was very happy to know that Flamengo supports breastfeeding”, she praised.

As part of the proposal to humanize motherhood, the athlete received a beautiful pregnancy painting, which allowed you to understand how your baby is positioned inside your belly.

The Brazilian Football League (LIBRA) is active to help clubs in negotiations regarding broadcasting rights for the national championship. One of the key teams in the group is Flamengo. However, with the possible entry of Corinthians into the organization, Rubro-Negro could end up having its revenue affected.

According to the Coluna do Fla portal, LIBRA negotiated a five-year contract with the clubs, with value of R$1.3 billion. However, if Corinthians wants to join the program, total revenue will fall by 10% of what was initially predicted. It is worth noting that, at the moment, the São Paulo team is outside the group.

In addition to Flamengo, other Brazilian football teams have signed an agreement with LIBRA regarding the Brasileirão broadcasting rights from 2025 to 2029 with the Rede Globo. Among the clubs in Series A are Palmeiras, São Paulo, Atlético-MG and Grêmio. For the second division, Santos will be one of the representatives.

After long controversies and many questions regarding the contract, Flamengo's Deliberative Council approved the sale of Brasileirão's broadcasting rights to Rede Globo from 2025 to 2029. The vote had 218 in favor, 149 against and seven abstentions. Rubro-Negro will receive R$210 million from the broadcaster starting next year.

Flamengo's debut at Brasileirão already has a date and time set for it to take place. This Sunday (14), at 4pm (Brasília time), Mengão will face Atlético-GO, in the first round of the tournament. The duel will be played at Serra Dourada. However, before this commitment, Fla takes the field, this time, for the Libertadores, this Wednesday (10), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), against Palestino (CHI).
