Reading is the basis for learning, expanding vocabulary, improving textual understanding and stimulating critical and analytical skills . To work on this issue, the project "Come read, come read, come read!", created by the Social Responsibility and Education departments of the Flamengo Museum, was created, whose purpose is to visit community libraries and cultural facilities in peripheral areas, with storytelling activities of stories, quizzes and book donations for children and teenagers. The objective is to awaken a love of reading, enable greater contact between children and books, as well as contribute to the transformation of community libraries into spaces for culture, learning and leisure.
So, this Friday (19), the project “Come read, come read, come read!” was present at the Wagner Vinício Community Library, in Rio das Pedras, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, created by community residents who wanted a place where their children could spend their time while they were not at school. The library's objective is to encourage reading in the Rio das Pedras community, being the only cultural space focused on literature in the locality. The action brought together around 30 children and young people between the ages of 8 and 13.
“The kids had very high expectations, mainly because it was a Flamengo project. It was really cool to receive the "Vem Ler" project, as most of the children are Flamengo fans. It is always very beneficial to host external activities so that children can have new experiences and the activity you carried out completed the work we have already done in the library, mainly on the importance of concentration, group work and using creativity in order to overcome challenges. weaknesses: shyness, concentration, etc. It was amazing to welcome you! The kids loved it and so did we”, said Simone Araújo, mediator at the Wagner Vinício community library.
In the action, the children and young people present received Flamengo books, backpacks and cups.
For the next few months, the project "Come read, come read, come read!" will be present in other community libraries in the city.

Essential for child development, breast milk is considered by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the “golden food”, giving rise to Golden August, a month to encourage breastfeeding. Thus, to reinforce support for the campaign, Flamengo's Social Responsibility department took, last Tuesday (27), water polo athlete Duda Martins, who is 26 weeks pregnant, and the club's mascots to meet the Maria Amélia Buarque de Holanda Municipal Maternity, a reference in humanized care for pregnant women, in the center of Rio.
As part of the activity program, the athlete received guidance on the breastfeeding process and the importance of breast milk in child development and in building bonds together with other pregnant and postpartum women cared for by the maternity ward.
“Flamengo's presence here today is extremely important because all actions aimed at Agosto Dourado aim to support, promote and increasingly encourage breastfeeding. Encouraging breastfeeding on demand, increasing breastfeeding time allows society to understand the real benefit that human milk has for both babies and mothers”, said Carla Navarrete, coordinator of the Nutrition and Dietetics Service at the Maternity Hospital and president of the Unit's Breastfeeding Committee.
“Visiting the Maria Amélia maternity ward was an incredible experience, I could see that the maternity ward is really very intense. I answered questions, learned and prepared myself a little more, and had contact with other pregnant women. Each of us had different doubts and fears, which were fully welcomed by the team that welcomed us. It was a pleasure to be part of Flamengo's social responsibility action”, said athlete Duda Martins.
Production assistant Josiane Portugal, who is also pregnant and undergoes prenatal care at the maternity ward, added. “Today I learned that only breast milk is enough and no other milk is needed for the child to grow up healthy. I loved Flamengo's presence here today. I'm a Flamengo fan, my family is Flamengo fan and I was very happy to know that Flamengo supports breastfeeding”, she praised.
As part of the proposal to humanize motherhood, the athlete received a beautiful pregnancy painting, which allowed you to understand how your baby is positioned inside your belly.

Flamengo is in a presidential election year and, as a result, campaigns have begun to be publicized. Thus, one more person applied for the election: Delair Dumbrosck, who is part of the group "Nação Sem Fronteiras".
In publicizing the campaign, Delair Dumbrosck spoke about his projects and what he thinks about the growth of sports Olympics. Furthermore, the pre-candidate also showed a sustainable solution for building his own stadium. Finally, the candidate spoke about the alternatives to internationalize the club's brand on the world stage.
Delair is an entrepreneur in the market segment real estate. Within Rubro-Negro, the pre-candidate was already president of the club in 2009, when Márcio Braga left the position. Thus, at the head of the management that had Marcos Braz as manager and Adriano Imperador on the team, the candidate for the election won the Brasileirão that year.
CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENCY OF FLAMENGOIn addition to Delair Dumbrosck, Rodrigo Dunshee, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, Maurício Gomes de Mattos, Pedro Paulo, Wallim Vasconcelos and José Carlos Peruano are also competing for the presidency of Flamengo.
The elections will be held on the day December 9, in Gávea. The time for members to vote will be from 8am to 9pm. Thus, during the day, members will choose the candidate who best fits the club's profile to lead the three-year period.

In a match valid for the fourth round of the Carioca Women's Under-20 Championship, Flamengo defeated Serrano 20-0, this Saturday afternoon (14), in Gávea. Ingrid (4), Ana Papel, Maria Peck (2), Cecília, Anna Luiza (3), Alice, Leane (4), Duda Detori, Letícia Pinho (2) and Isabela Nunes scored Mengão's goals.
The game
The match had barely started and Flamengo opened the scoring after just two minutes. Isabela Nunes crossed into the area, Anna Luiza set it up for Ingrid to hit the goalkeeper: 1 to 0.
The red-black team continued to control possession of the ball and scored the second after seven minutes. Ana Papel caught the ball beautifully and hit the angle, with no chance for the goalkeeper: 2-0. Soon after, it was Maria Peck's turn to take a risk from distance and score the third goal of the match after just nine minutes.
The Meninas da Gávea didn't let up and expanded at 12'. Ingrid took advantage of the cross in the area to move the goalkeeper and score the fourth. Six minutes later, Mais Querido scored the fifth with Cecília, with a header: 5 to 0.
After the fifth goal, Cecília asked to leave and gave way to Gaby Bastos. Despite the large advantage on the scoreboard, Mengão went up in search of more. At 29', Ana Papel made a great move and passed the ball for her namesake Anna Luiza to cover: 6 to 0.
Serrano barely gave away the ball and the red-blacks scored the seventh of the match with another great goal from Anna Luiza from outside the area, also through coverage: 7 to 0.
To give final numbers to the first stage, Meninas da Gávea found the net four more times, with Alice, Ingrid (2 ) and Maria Peck. Rubro-Negro went into the break with an 11-0 lead. Highlight for striker Ingrid, who scored four times.
On the way back to the second half, Leane received the ball alone in the area and touched it low into the corner to make it 12-0. At 9', Anna Luiza entered the area alone and hit it into the goalkeeper's right corner: 13 to 0. It was shirt 10's hat-trick in the game.
As Meninas da Gávea didn't slow down and expanded in the 14th minute. Anna Luiza played the ball to Alice, who provided a beautiful light screen for Leane to reach with a cross: 14 to 0. Seven minutes later, Leane again entered the area alone and scored another hat-trick in the match: 15 to 0.
Right-winger Leane came into the match with everything and scored her fourth goal in the 37th minute. After taking off, she dribbled past the goalkeeper and scored the 16th goal. Then, Duda Detori further extends the advantage with a penalty kick: 17 to 0.
In the last minutes, Meninas da Gávea scored three more goals to give final figures to the rout. Letícia Pinho (twice) and Isabela Nunes completed the scoring in the great 20-0 victory.
