On the night of last Wednesday (15), the CBF decided to paralyze the Brasileirão after a request from 15 clubs and a meeting between the teams and the entity. Therefore, the competition will be postponed for two rounds due to heavy rain in Rio Grande do Sul. Therefore, Flamengo will no longer play for the championship in May. After all, clashes against Vasco and Grêmio were scheduled to take place in the coming weeks. Therefore, Mais Querido will only play in the competition on June 2nd, against Athletico-PR.


After the match against Bolívar, this Wednesday (15th), More Querido will have just two more cup matches in May. Next Wednesday (22), Rubro-Negro will go to Manaus to face Amazonas, in the third phase of the Copa do Brasil. The following week, on 28/05, the match will be against Millonarios, in the last round of the Libertadores group stage.

“After consulting the 20 clubs participating in Series A of the Brazilian Championship and receiving the request from 15 teams to suspend the competition until May 27th, the CBF reiterates the public commitment made to transparency and dialogue by the current management and suspends rounds 7 and 8 of the competition”, says an excerpt from the statement issued by the CBF.

Thus, with no game for the Brasileirão at the weekend, the squad do Flamengo will prepare for the match against Amazonas, next Wednesday (22). The game will take place at 9:30 pm, at Arena Amazonas, in Manaus.
