The team from Minas Gerais offered a long contract and salary requested by the Flamengo striker, who ends his time at Rubro-Negro at the end of 2024

0On Sunday night (10), Cruzeiro agreed to sign Gabigol, Flamengo striker. After the victory against Atlético-MG, the player gave an interview and revealed that he would not be in Mais Querido for the next season.
According to information from GE, the Cruzeiro board treats Gabigol as the main investment in terms of salaries for 2025. The Minas Gerais team is fighting to win a place in the next Libertadores.
Gabigol was already a desire of the Cruzeiro board and the owner of the Minas Gerais team, Pedro Lourenço . He already praised the number 99, in the mid-year window, but informed that he would not be able to invest at that time.
FLAMENGO IDOL
Gabigol leaves Flamengo as one of the biggest idols of the current generation. In total, the striker scored 160 goals in 305 games for Mais Querido. Additionally, he won 13 titles with the Sacred Mantle. Among them: two Conmebol Libertadores (2019 and 2022), two Brazilians (2019 and 2020) and two Brazilian Cups (2022 and 2024).
GO TO THE CRUISE
Gabigol has a contract with Flamengountil the end of 2024. Therefore, the striker will still play for Mais Querido until the end Brasileirão, which ends on December 8th. Thus, number 99 will only transfer to Cruzeiro in January 2025.
The Mais Querido striker also criticized the board and coach Tite, where he said that the commander did not respect him

0On the afternoon of this Sunday (10), Flamengo became five-time champions at Arena MRV after beating Atlético-MG in the score 4-1 on aggregate. After the confrontation, Gabigol gave an interview off the field and declared that he will not stay at Flamengo next season.
"It was my last final. I'm not going to stay at Flamengo", said the striker in an interview after the clash against Atlético-MG, at Arena MRV. The number 99 also criticized coach Tite, saying that the commander did not respect him and the red-black board.
"( I'm very emotional, I have affection for Flamengo. Now I have to make the most of these remaining games and be able to say goodbye to the fans, I'm not staying at Flamengo, in recent years there have been negotiations, the president, the board, shook my hand, my father's. , and then things happened that I really didn't like. I always found out about things through the podcast, never in person. I spoke to Marcos Braz about staying for two, three years, but there was never an offer from Flamengo", said Gabriel.
GABIGOL DESTINY
Now, Gabigol heads towards the end of the season for Cruzeiro. The team from Minas Gerais agreed to sign the player for the coming seasons.

0Sunday was magical for Flamengo fans across Brazil. This is because the club won its fifth Brazilian Cup in history, beating Atlético-MG again, this time by 1-0 (Plata's goal) in Belo Horizonte. Adding to this, the team led by coach Filipe Luís was the first champion of Arena MRV.
Summary
Very busy first half at Arena MRV, despite the zero on the scoreboard. Gabriel Milito's Atlético had more of the ball and dominated much of the game, but Flamengo got scared with several attacks and tried to balance the match. The best chance, in fact, was from Fla: a header from Arrascaeta that knocked paint off Everson's post. The team led by Filipe Luís held on well and so far knew how to manage the 3-1 advantage built in Rio de Janeiro. Galo almost scored with shots from Hulk (a hit from outside the area) and Paulinho (in a mistake with the red-black ball). The first stage also saw complaints from the Flamengo fans due to a foul by Lyanco on Arrascaeta - for them, the defender should receive a red card instead of a yellow one.
The second half was in the same panorama as the first until 10 min. Then, leaving many defensive spaces, Flamengo piled up chances to open the score, mainly with Michael. This happened because, with the need to score at least two goals, Atlético went forward, leaving Fla with the counterattacks. Time passed and Filipe Luís' team continued to have the best chances, even with the score in their favor. After so many chances, finally the goal: At 39', Gonzalo Plata takes advantage of a counterattack, gets in the face of the goalkeeper and, through cover, scores the goal that declared the Copa do Brasil title for Fla and the first title in the history of Arena MRV .
And now?
With the title, Flamengo ends the Copa do Brasil, increases the club's revenue from the prize pool and guarantees place in the next Libertadores in 2025. However, the Brazilian Championship still remains. The red-black team is in fourth place, with 58 points and very little chance of winning the title.
Fla's next opponent will again be Atlético-mg. This time the match will be at Maracanã, for the national championship. The duel takes place next Wednesday, at 8pm.
