Raça Rubro Negra is the main organized supporter of Flamengo and a reference in the country when it comes to the stands. The Race lives one of its worst moments. Living with punishments in recent years and away from the stadiums, the organization is also going through an internal crisis.
Regional groups of the organization are dissatisfied with the management of President Anderson Macula, their representatives manifested themselves this Tuesday (01), through of social networks. The groups communicated that they will no longer transfer amounts to the board and demanded a general meeting of the fans.
They listed the reasons that led to this decision. They also pointed out that they are dissatisfied and that the majority does not trust the current management.
“We are not satisfied with the result that your management has been obtaining in favor of our much loved fans. Our position includes, among other issues, the non-payment of monthly fees, caravans at Flamengo games and materials”, says part of the official note.
“We are absolutely convinced that the overwhelming majority does not trust the current management . With each passing day, the crowd grows closer to situations. But we are without structure, without voice and representation. Thus, we are being presided over by a person who does not listen to the voice of its members and treats its directors like puppets.”
The groups that participated in the statement are the 5th Tijuca Region, West Zone Command and 8th Caxias Region , among other groups. They demand a new election and a new general meeting that has not taken place since 2019.
“Our struggle is not in the interest of A, B or C positions, for any members of our Region. But we want a fair and democratic election. Therefore, we demand that a General Meeting be held (which has not taken place since 2019), and we want to be able to assemble a ticket that competes democratically with any other ticket that demonstrates conditions to provide the best mandate to our beloved institution.”
“We are also not satisfied in terms of the stands, especially in the games at Maracanã. We don't have leadership, we don't have a voice to ignite the members, in short, a true abandonment of our essence.”
Mengão is one of the main multi-sport teams in Brazil and stands out among the clubs that send athletes to defend the country

Flamengo confirmed its prominent position in Brazilian swimming by leading the number of athletes called up to represent the country in the five main international competitions of the 2025 season. In total, 18 swimmers from the club were called up to join different national teams, more than any other club in the country.
The calls cover five tournaments : the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore; the Junior World Championships in Otopeni (Romania); the Universiades in Berlin (Germany); the South American Youth Championships in Rio de Janeiro; and the U-15 Gymnasiades in Serbia.
Among Brazilian clubs, only Flamengo and Pinheiros have managed to field athletes in all five national teams . Flamengo leads the overall rankings with 18 players, followed by Pinheiros and Minas Tênis Clube, both with 14.
Although other institutions dominated selections in specific categories—such as Unisanta, the base team for the Singapore World Cup, with five players, and Minas Gerais, a strong performer at the Universiade and Junior World Championships— Flamengo was the standout in the youth categories . The Rio de Janeiro club had the most representatives in both the South American Youth Championship, with nine athletes, and the U-15 Gymnasiade, with five.
The survey, conducted by the Best Swimming website, analyzed a total of 23 clubs that had swimmers selected. After Flamengo, Pinheiros, and Minas, SESI-SP (10 athletes) and Unisanta (8) were the most representative. The significant presence of Flamengo on the national teams, especially among the younger players, reinforces Flamengo's role as a key player in the renewal of national swimming and one of Brazil's main talent pools.

The Meninas da Gávea drew 1-1 with Grêmio last Wednesday (18), which was even lamented by striker Vitoria Almeida, in the women's Brasileirão. The Mais Querido remained in fifth place and will now face Palmeiras in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The first game will be played at Flamengo 's home ground on August 10th at 10:30 am, with the stadium yet to be defined. The return leg is scheduled for the 17th at the same time at Arena Barueri. The games will be broadcast live on TV Globo, TV Brasil and SporTV.
