In ten years, Flamengo managed to increase the market value of its Sacred Mantle by 277%. This was a long process that totally depended on the administrative restructuring that the club underwent during the mandates of Eduardo Bandeira de Mello (2013 - 2018) and Rodolfo Landim (2018 - until now). It's just about the fans buying the shirt, but about the visibility that Manto gained and the respect as well. The value is calculated based on how much sponsors are willing to pay to have their brand printed on it in all games of a season.
When Bandeira de Mello took charge of Mais Querido in 2013, he had the objective of restructuring the team. That year, Fla was champion of the Copa do Brasil and, at the same time, barely escaped relegation in the Brasileirão.
In April 2013, the football team's t-shirt accumulated 45 million reais in sponsorships. Of these, R$10 million was paid by Peugeot, which occupied the main space, while the other R$35.6 million came from Adidas and other partnerships and marketing actions. However, it was in May that things started to change at Flamengo.
Under the command of Bandeira de Mello, the club signed a contract with Caixa, which became the new main sponsor. The agreement was for 25 million reais. Peugeot moved to Manto's back, Adidas maintained the link and Tim contributed 2.5 million reais to print the numbers. Thus, the value of the shirt has already risen to 73.6 million reais.
Currently, under the management of Rodolfo Landim, Flamengo has a uniform worth 170 million reais in sponsorship. The main space ('master') belongs to Banco BRB, which has a contract worth 32 million reais, seven million more than what Caixa used to pay.
It should be noted that Adidas represents an average of R$69 million (between sponsorship and the percentage of sales), and Pixbet, at R$24 million, are the three highest values. Mercado Livre (R$ 20 million), Sil (R$ 12 million), Assistcard (R$ 8 million), and Tim (R$ 5 million) complete the spaces.
Expectations for next year are even higher. This Thursday (05) Flamengo's Deliberative Council will vote on the renewal of the contract with Pixbet. The projection is that the new contract will end up doubling the amount paid to Flamengo, becoming 45 million reais per year.

The Merengue team could put Vinicius Júnior on the market if there is no contract renewal, aiming at the arrival of the Frenchman Michael Olise

Real Madrid is considering trading Vinicius Júnior to free up space in its squad and invest in signing Bayern Munich standout Michael Olise. The Brazilian striker, a star of the Mais Querido club, has yet to reach a renewal agreement with the Spanish club, fueling speculation about his departure.
According to information released by the Transfer Feed portal, Real Madrid is closely monitoring Olise's situation. The 23-year-old French winger has been attracting attention for his consistent performance at Bayern Munich and has reportedly been recommended by Kylian Mbappé, with whom he plays for the French national team.
The Spanish club doesn't intend to further increase its payroll with another high-profile player without first negotiating with some of the current squad. If Vinicius Júnior is indeed put up for sale, Florentino Pérez could move forward with negotiations to bring in Olise, bolstering the attacking sector.
Signed last season after excelling at Crystal Palace in England, Olise has already made 59 appearances for the German giants. During this time, he directly contributed to 44 goals: scoring 24 and assisting another 20. His career in English football began with Reading, where he also attracted attention for his talent and versatility.
The uncertainty surrounding the Brazilian's contract renewal creates a climate of anticipation in the European market . If he leaves, Flamengo could see one of its most recent stars leave the Spanish club and reap a profit on the sale.
Midfielder was the only Mengão player not to enter the field during the FIFA Date and the lack of sequence is starting to draw attention

Among Flamengo's squad for the FIFA Date in September, Jorge Carrascal was the only one who did not enter the field . Called up by the Colombian national team, the midfielder was not even included in the match against Venezuela, last Tuesday (9).
Coach Néstor Lorenzo had already called up players above the permitted limit and, therefore, opted to cut the Flamengo player from the final list . Meanwhile, all the other Flamengo players called up by their national teams actively participated in the matches.
Arrascaeta and Varela, for example, were starters for Uruguay and had a direct role in the victory over Peru. This Tuesday (9), Matías Viña and Samuel Lino started playing for Celeste and Brazil , respectively, while Gonzalo Plata defended Ecuador as a starter against Argentina.
The midfielder's absence from the last two qualifying matches reinforces his recent loss of prominence in the Colombian national team. With qualification for the World Cup already assured, Carrascal will have to prove himself at Flamengo to regain coach Néstor Lorenzo's consideration .
Currently, the player has only played three matches for Rubro-Negro, all coming off the bench: two against Internacional (Libertadores and Brasileirão) and in the 8-0 rout over Vitória . In total, he has played 68 minutes on the field wearing the Sacred Mantle.
Filipe Luís on Carrascal at Flamengo: "I have great hope that he becomes an idol"
Despite a timid start, coach Filipe Luís made a point of highlighting Carrascal's quality and potential , projecting that the Colombian can win over Flamengo fans and revealed that he wants to make the midfielder a future idol of the club.
"He's a player with extreme quality. If he gets minutes on the field, everyone will see how refined he is technically. I have high hopes that he becomes an idol, because he's the kind of player the fans love to watch . The way he carries the ball and creates opportunities is something that could mark the club's history for years to come," said the coach.
Mengão wants to renew with the coach until at least the end of the 2026 season, but the commentator says the coach asked to wait
10 Set 2025 | 10:00 |
Commentator Denílson revealed that Filipe Luís is in no rush to renew his contract with Flamengo. The coach's contract runs until the end of the current season, and although he is highly valued internally , his lack of clarity opens the door to speculation and even potential interest from European clubs if a deal doesn't materialize.
Denílson on Filipe Luís at Flamengo: "He signaled that he still doesn't want to renew"
Despite his excellent work at the helm of the club, Filipe Luís will likely negotiate a salary increase to extend his contract . According to Denílson, the board understands that the former full-back has already become a technical and strategic asset to the club, but the decision should be made naturally in the coming months.
During his commentary, Denílson mentioned Jorge Jesus, currently at Al-Nassr, but ruled out any possibility of the Portuguese coach returning to Flamengo . He believes the coach will be remembered only for his winning streak in 2019 and 2020, without posing a threat to the continuity of the current project.
"Filipe Luís has signaled that he doesn't want to renew yet. Flamengo said: 'Shall we renew? Wait a minute.' If Filipe Luís doesn't renew, who would be a good name for this Flamengo ? They're in a good phase and swimming with ease... But forget it, this guy (Jorge Jesus) isn't coming back ," said Denílson.
Due to the FIFA World Cup, Flamengo will be sidelined for two weeks. Filipe Luís's side will return to action on September 14th at 4pm (Brasília time) against Juventude at Alfredo Jaconi Stadium for the 23rd round of the Brazilian Championship. With 47 points, Flamengo remains in the lead, followed by Cruzeiro (44) and Palmeiras (43).
