MC Bob Rum will release the song "Mensageiro do Amor", in honor of MC Marcinho, who passed away at the age of 45 in August 2023, due to multiple organ failure, on the 29th.
The song's music video, filmed in Cidade das Artes, in the West Zone of Rio, will also feature the participation of the funk singer's mother, Dona Fátima. It is important to remember that the artists, who recorded hits such as "Escrito P'ras Princesas" and "Zona Oeste", were long-time friends and would complete three decades of career this year.
"It's still difficult to digest . 30 years of complicity, respect and friendship. When he left, the first phrase that came to my mind was 'a prince's place is next to the King (God)'. The song goes beyond the pain of longing. According to my imagination , is how he was welcomed into heaven. Furthermore, it was a way to warm his mother's heart, which was my friend's biggest concern", says Bob Rum.
Before the MC's death, the duo planned to celebrate 30 years of career in Cidade das Artes, where the music video was recorded. "He won't be there physically, but he will always be with me. I planned the clip as my heart misses him on our tours, the empty theater and the certainty that the angels are now his new musical partners", declares the funk artist, highlighting the importance of Marcinho in his life and mourning the loss of his friend.
"Since his goodbye, I still haven't gotten used to it. My voice breaks and I look to the side at the parts he sang with me. The urge to cry comes, but I remember his smile and a peace invades my heart, because it's great to have had a real friend", he adds.
