The political scenario of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo has been in turmoil as the elections for the club's presidency approach . Amid rumors and speculation, the vice-president of external relations, Wallim Vasconcellos, went public to deny a possible alliance with Rodrigo Dunshee, current general and legal vice-president of Flamengo, for the next elections. Vasconcellos was emphatic in stating that his ticket, Chapa Roxa, will follow its own trajectory until the end of the electoral process, without any type of merger with other candidacies. The matter gained repercussion after Wallim's presence at an event promoted by Chapa Roxa, which was interpreted by many as an indication of unity between the two politicians.

In a recent interview, Wallim explained that his participation in the event was brief, lasting only between 5 and 10 minutes. “I stayed for 5 to 10 minutes and they made a fuss there”, reported the vice-president of external relations, highlighting that his presence was nothing more than an informal act. For him, political opponents within the club should not be treated as enemies, emphasizing that the electoral environment at Flamengo needs to be guided by mutual respect and healthy competition. “They are my political opponents, not enemies”, highlighted Wallim, trying to minimize the idea of a fierce or aggressive dispute between the different parties.

IN A DIFFERENT WAY

This statement came to clarify the climate of speculation that took over the Flamengo's political backstage. The possibility of an alliance between Wallim and Dunshee sparked conversations between advisors and fans, as such a partnership could change the balance of forces in the electoral dispute. With both holding highly relevant positions at the club and being influential figures, a union could, in fact, change the direction of the campaign. However, Wallim was clear in denying any type of articulation in this regard. He reinforced that his ticket is committed to his project and that he will remain firm until the end of the electoral race.

PROJECTING A VICTORY

Wallim's statement also reflects a delicate moment in Flamengo, where elections always generate heated discussions and move the club's political environment. The elections in the Flamengo are known for involving different groups and political currents that fight for the leadership of the club. The dynamics between the candidates often generate speculation about possible alliances and mergers, such as the one recently suggested between Wallim and Dunshee. However, the vice president of external relations made it clear that, so far, there is no movement in this direction.

< b>Wallim Vasconcellos also highlighted that Chapa Roxa, which he leads, will remain independent. He assured that his group has its own project for Flamengo, which further reinforces the idea that there will be no union with other candidates. “Our ticket will continue until the end”, declared Vasconcellos, reaffirming his commitment to the project he has defended since the beginning of his campaign. For him, the important thing is that Flamengo members and fans can have clear and well-defined options at the time of voting, without confusion regarding each candidate's proposals.

Coach Eduardo Domínguez tested a more conservative formation, including an extra defensive midfielder in midfield, as a strategy to contain Flamengo's attacks. According to Radio Província 1270 in La Plata, the change could result in only one striker on the field , demonstrating a more solid defensive posture.

LINEUP AND POSSIBLE CHANGES

Estudiantes ' likely lineup for the clash includes: Muslera; Gómez, Nuñez, Rodríguez, Arzamendia; Ascacibar, Piovi, Amondarain, Medina, Tiago Palacios; Carrillo.

It's not yet clear whether Piovi will play as an extra midfielder or be replaced by Castro . Amondarain, despite being an attacking midfielder, could drop back and act as a third midfielder, depending on Domínguez's strategy in recent training sessions.

FLAMENGO WILL HAVE A CHALLENGE

With the prospect of a more closed Argentine team, Flamengo, under the command of Filipe Luís, will have to work hard to break down Estudiantes' defense and seek a positive result in the first leg of the Libertadores quarterfinals.
