The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, said in an interview with CBN that it is not time for Flamengo to discuss how it will finance the construction of its own stadium and that it must first buy the land. According to Landim, once the land is acquired, Flamengo needs to use the Maracanã concession to be able to calmly plan the best construction and financing model. He assured, however, that the stadium “will come out with or without SAF”.
“Even if we have access to this land, if we are going to take care of all the licensing work, the discussions that we will have together with the city hall regarding people's mobility, the various approvals and construction time, this is a project for at least five years. I even see Maracanã as a way of, once we have the land, structuring a better way to build this stadium and finance this stadium over time. For now, what we really want is to have access to this land, which we believe is very important so that we can later develop this project calmly”, he stated.
Landim hinted that Flamengo was able to acquire the land with its own resources thanks to the club's economic power, which had revenue of almost R$1.4 billion and a surplus of more than R$320 million in 2023, as revealed in the balance sheet published last Thursday.

Landim defends that Flamengo controls football 'forever'
Landim assured, however, that there is no possibility that, even with the creation of the SAF, Flamengo giving up control of your football.

A saída de Filipe Luís do comando do Flamengo ainda é recente, mas o ex-lateral já voltou a ganhar destaque fora das quatro linhas. A Rede Globo demonstrou forte interesse em contar com o profissional em sua equipe de transmissão para a cobertura da Copa do Mundo de 2026.
Embora ainda não exista contrato assinado, as primeiras conversas entre as partes já foram iniciadas. Internamente, a emissora avalia que Filipe possui uma das leituras táticas mais refinadas do futebol atual, resultado da experiência acumulada ao longo da carreira em clubes como o Atlético de Madrid, no time carioca e também na Seleção Brasileira.

Apesar do desgaste provocado pelo episódio envolvendo a saída de Filipe Luís, o Flamengo não pretende demitir o diretor de futebol José Boto. A informação foi divulgada pelo jornalista Rodrigo Mattos durante um programa do Canal UOL.

De acordo com Mattos, o clube avalia a possibilidade de reforçar a estrutura do departamento de futebol com a contratação de um gerente que atue mais próximo do elenco. A função seria semelhante à desempenhada por Rafinha no São Paulo, servindo como ponte entre diretoria e jogadores.
“A diretoria do Flamengo não pensa em demiti-lo. A informação que eu tenho, eu vi muitas publicações sobre isso, fui conferir com mais de uma fonte, a informação que eu tenho é que não vão demití-lo e que ninguém foi procurado. Nenhum desses nomes, desses contatos para substituí-lo, tudo que foi publicado até agora não é verídico”, iniciou Mattos.
“O que é verdade? Tem uma intenção, que ainda não foi uma sondagem, de você eventualmente ter um outro diretor, um gerente, que é a função do Rafinha no São Paulo, que seja mais próximo do elenco. Embora tenha sido cogitado como possível substituto de José Boto, que vive momento de instabilidade no cargo de diretor de futebol, o ex-dirigente francês não faz parte dos planos imediatos do presidente Luiz Eduardo Baptista.
Segundo informações da ESPN, o nome de Leonardo chegou a ser mencionado no Flamengo ainda no final de 2025, durante o impasse sobre a renovação de contrato de Boto. No entanto, Bap teria sido aconselhado por pessoas de confiança a descartar o dirigente, por acreditar que seu perfil poderia gerar mais problemas do que soluções no ambiente interno do clube.
