The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, said in an interview with CBN that it is not time for Flamengo to discuss how it will finance the construction of its own stadium and that it must first buy the land. According to Landim, once the land is acquired, Flamengo needs to use the Maracanã concession to be able to calmly plan the best construction and financing model. He assured, however, that the stadium “will come out with or without SAF”.
“Even if we have access to this land, if we are going to take care of all the licensing work, the discussions that we will have together with the city hall regarding people's mobility, the various approvals and construction time, this is a project for at least five years. I even see Maracanã as a way of, once we have the land, structuring a better way to build this stadium and finance this stadium over time. For now, what we really want is to have access to this land, which we believe is very important so that we can later develop this project calmly”, he stated.
Landim hinted that Flamengo was able to acquire the land with its own resources thanks to the club's economic power, which had revenue of almost R$1.4 billion and a surplus of more than R$320 million in 2023, as revealed in the balance sheet published last Thursday.
“We are reducing our debt, and we have a very low net debt. In fact, we are putting together the economic conditions to have a stadium”, he said.
Landim explains his insistence on the land at Gasologista
The president of Flamengo said that the Gasologista land is perfect for Flamengo's plans, which is why he is insisting so much on its acquisition.

When asked if the construction of the stadium depends on Flamengo becoming SAF, Landim assured that it is not.
“The stadium will come out with or without SAF. What exists is a discussion that is a model that would have to be discussed with Flamengo's partners if they understood that this is the path. Which is the Bayern Munich model. Instead of selling control, Bayern sold a minority portion of this capital. He continues to have 75.1% of football control. And through this mechanism he obtained resources to build a stadium. Can we give up using this money [from a SAF]? We can let go. But we are going to put the club in debt and it will be much more painful for us because there will be a capital cost to pay this money that will be necessary for the construction of the stadium that could be reverted to the football club, for investment in our players”, he stated.
Landim defends that Flamengo controls football 'forever'
Landim assured, however, that there is no possibility that, even with the creation of the SAF, Flamengo giving up control of your football.
“There is no reason today so that in whatever Flamengo's project may be, the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will not be the controller of your football. Whenever people associate the image of the SAF, they see the SAF as a solution to save clubs from bankruptcy. The first thing I want to make publicly is that I understand that Flamengo has no reason why its sports association should not continue to control its football forever.”
Landim attributed it to an attempt by the opposition to create controversial in an election year the anticipation of the discussion on SAF. However, the person who put the issue on the agenda was Landim's cousin and vice-president of Patrimony Arthur Rocha, who gathered signatures for an amendment to regulate the process of transforming the club into SAF. President cites Palmeiras to reject stadium-only society
Landim also explained why he rejects the possibility of creating a society for specific purpose to generate the stadium instead of a SAF that would take over part of Flamengo's football, albeit a minority.

Atual campeão da Copa Libertadores da América, o Flamengo começou a edição de 2026 com o pé direito. Na última quarta-feira (08), o Rubro-Negro venceu o Cusco (PER) por 2 a 0, mesmo enfrentando os mais de 3.400 metros de altitude no Peru. Após o resultado positivo, o elenco recebeu folga na quinta (09) e se reapresentou nesta sexta-feira (10), no Ninho do Urubu.
A delegação rubro-negra enfrentou problemas logísticos no retorno ao Brasil, o que atrasou a chegada ao Rio de Janeiro. Por conta disso, o clube precisou reorganizar a programação da semana. Ainda assim, o elenco voltou aos treinos normalmente nesta sexta-feira (10), com atividade marcada para às 10h30 (horário de Brasília), sob comando do técnico Leonardo Jardim. A sessão será fundamental para avaliar o desgaste físico dos jogadores após a estreia continental e iniciar a preparação para o próximo compromisso da temporada.
Dentro de campo, o Flamengo mostrou força e experiência para superar as dificuldades impostas pelo ambiente adverso. A chamada “Geração de 2019” voltou a ser decisiva: Bruno Henrique abriu o placar, enquanto Arrascaeta fechou o marcador, garantindo os três pontos fora de casa.
Agora, o Flamengo vira a chave para o Campeonato Brasileiro. A Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) atendeu ao pedido do clube e alterou a data do clássico contra o Fluminense, que passou de sábado (11) para domingo (12).

O Flamengo já iniciou o planejamento para a próxima janela de transferências e, além de buscar reforços para o ataque, também monitora o mercado em busca de um lateral-esquerdo. A movimentação acontece diante das incertezas envolvendo o futuro de Alex Sandro. A informação é do portal ‘GE’.
Titular da posição, Alex Sandro tem contrato até o fim de 2026, mas ainda não definiu se permanecerá no clube. Aos 35 anos, o jogador tem manifestado, internamente, o desejo de atuar em um mercado menos exigente fisicamente do que o futebol brasileiro.
O calendário intenso já impacta diretamente o desempenho do lateral, que convive com problemas musculares e tem sido submetido a controle de carga. Atualmente, o atleta se recupera de lesão na parte posterior da coxa direita, sofrida no duelo contra o Corinthians, no dia 22 de março. A contusão, inclusive, o tirou dos últimos jogos e da convocação da Seleção Brasileira na Data Fifa.
Com a ausência de Alex Sandro, Ayrton Lucas assumiu a titularidade nas últimas partidas. O jogador teve bom desempenho contra o Cusco, inclusive dando a assistência para o gol de Bruno Henrique na estreia da Libertadores. Apesar disso, o lateral vinha sendo alvo de críticas após atuações abaixo do esperado contra Red Bull Bragantino e Santos, o que aumenta a pressão por maior regularidade.
Diante desse cenário, somando a idade e condição física de Alex Sandro com a oscilação de Ayrton Lucas, o Flamengo entende que precisa se antecipar no mercado. O Flamengo segue sendo referência até mesmo em divisões inferiores do futebol brasileiro. Nesta quinta-feira (09), o zagueiro Rafael Vaz, atualmente no Rio Branco-ES, chamou atenção ao comparar a rotina atual com o período em que atuou pelo Rubro-Negro.

Em entrevista coletiva, o defensor de 37 anos afirmou que a exigência no momento atual é ainda maior do que nos tempos de Flamengo. Segundo Vaz, o peso da carreira construída faz com que a responsabilidade seja constante dentro de campo.
“Eu brinco com todo mundo que eu trabalho hoje mais do que quando eu estava no Flamengo. Hoje eu tenho que realmente trabalhar para poder valer o nome que eu tenho”, disse o jogador. O zagueiro ainda destacou que carrega uma grande responsabilidade por conta da trajetória no futebol e reforçou o compromisso em corresponder às expectativas dentro da equipe capixaba.
Além de Rafael Vaz, outro nome com ligação ao Flamengo também está presente no elenco do Rio Branco-ES. Trata-se do goleiro Andrey Ventura, irmão de Andrew, arqueiro reserva de Rossi no elenco rubro-negro. No clube capixaba, Andrey é titular da posição.
Rafael Vaz defendeu o Flamengo entre 2016 e 2017. Durante esse período, o zagueiro disputou 79 partidas, marcou dois gols e deu uma assistência. Além disso, conquistou um Campeonato Carioca com a camisa rubro-negra.
Mesmo após deixar o clube, o defensor segue tendo o nome associado ao Flamengo, agora como uma das lideranças de um time que disputa a Série D do Campeonato Brasileiro, mostrando como a passagem pelo Mais Querido ainda impacta sua carreira.
