The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, said in an interview with CBN that it is not time for Flamengo to discuss how it will finance the construction of its own stadium and that it must first buy the land. According to Landim, once the land is acquired, Flamengo needs to use the Maracanã concession to be able to calmly plan the best construction and financing model. He assured, however, that the stadium “will come out with or without SAF”.
“Even if we have access to this land, if we are going to take care of all the licensing work, the discussions that we will have together with the city hall regarding people's mobility, the various approvals and construction time, this is a project for at least five years. I even see Maracanã as a way of, once we have the land, structuring a better way to build this stadium and finance this stadium over time. For now, what we really want is to have access to this land, which we believe is very important so that we can later develop this project calmly”, he stated.
Landim hinted that Flamengo was able to acquire the land with its own resources thanks to the club's economic power, which had revenue of almost R$1.4 billion and a surplus of more than R$320 million in 2023, as revealed in the balance sheet published last Thursday.
“We are reducing our debt, and we have a very low net debt. In fact, we are putting together the economic conditions to have a stadium”, he said.
Landim explains his insistence on the land at Gasologista
The president of Flamengo said that the Gasologista land is perfect for Flamengo's plans, which is why he is insisting so much on its acquisition.

When asked if the construction of the stadium depends on Flamengo becoming SAF, Landim assured that it is not.
“The stadium will come out with or without SAF. What exists is a discussion that is a model that would have to be discussed with Flamengo's partners if they understood that this is the path. Which is the Bayern Munich model. Instead of selling control, Bayern sold a minority portion of this capital. He continues to have 75.1% of football control. And through this mechanism he obtained resources to build a stadium. Can we give up using this money [from a SAF]? We can let go. But we are going to put the club in debt and it will be much more painful for us because there will be a capital cost to pay this money that will be necessary for the construction of the stadium that could be reverted to the football club, for investment in our players”, he stated.
Landim defends that Flamengo controls football 'forever'
Landim assured, however, that there is no possibility that, even with the creation of the SAF, Flamengo giving up control of your football.
“There is no reason today so that in whatever Flamengo's project may be, the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will not be the controller of your football. Whenever people associate the image of the SAF, they see the SAF as a solution to save clubs from bankruptcy. The first thing I want to make publicly is that I understand that Flamengo has no reason why its sports association should not continue to control its football forever.”
Landim attributed it to an attempt by the opposition to create controversial in an election year the anticipation of the discussion on SAF. However, the person who put the issue on the agenda was Landim's cousin and vice-president of Patrimony Arthur Rocha, who gathered signatures for an amendment to regulate the process of transforming the club into SAF. President cites Palmeiras to reject stadium-only society
Landim also explained why he rejects the possibility of creating a society for specific purpose to generate the stadium instead of a SAF that would take over part of Flamengo's football, albeit a minority.

Entre os destaques esteve o zagueiro Iago, nome constantemente elogiado internamente, mas que ainda não encontra espaço no elenco profissional devido ao alto nível de concorrência.

Iago já havia chamado atenção recentemente na final do Mundial de Clubes Sub-20. Na ocasião, o Flamengo perdia por 2 a 1 para o Barcelona (ESP) quando o zagueiro decidiu avançar ao ataque, marcou o gol de empate e levou a decisão para os pênaltis, convertendo sua cobrança em uma cavadinha.

Adversário do Flamengo na próxima quarta-feira (10), pela Copa Intercontinental, o Cruz Azul desembarca no torneio pressionado. No sábado (06), a equipe mexicana empatou por 1 a 1 com o Tigres, fora de casa, e acabou eliminada na semifinal do Apertura do Campeonato Mexicano.
Com dois empates por 1 a 1, ida e volta, o Cruz Azul ficou pelo caminho devido ao regulamento. O Tigres avançou à decisão por ter feito melhor campanha na fase classificatória, encerrando a etapa inicial na segunda posição. O Cruz Azul, por sua vez, terminou em terceiro.
Atuando no Estádio Universitario, o Tigres assumiu o controle no início e abriu o placar aos 27 minutos. O francês Gignac encontrou Juan Brunetta, que completou para a rede. A partir daí, o Cruz Azul tomou o protagonismo do jogo.
Terminou com 59% da posse, 15 finalizações contra 10 e seis arremates no alvo, diante de apenas um do rival. Mesmo assim, só balançou a rede em um lance acidental: aos 50 minutos do segundo tempo, Purata marcou contra, empatando o duelo.

O empate em 3 a 3 entre Mirassol e Flamengo, neste sábado (06), pela última rodada do Brasileirão, marcou um fato raro na temporada: pela primeira vez em 2025, Michael atuou durante os 90 minutos. Após o apito final, o atacante desabafou sobre o difícil segundo semestre e não descartou uma saída do clube.

“Tenho contrato até 2028, sou atleta do clube e me esforço para caramba todos os dias. Mesmo não jogando, tento levar alegria, simpatia. Claro que vai ter momentos que a gente não vai ficar feliz por não jogar, isso é normal. Queria muito estar jogando, mas respeito meus colegas e a opinião do treinador”, afirmou o camisa 19.
Na sequência, Michael deixou claro que está à disposição para qualquer decisão da diretoria. Segundo ele, permanecer é uma opção, mas uma eventual transferência também não é descartada: “Se o Flamengo quiser que eu fique aqui, estou aqui para trabalhar. Mas, se for da vontade do clube seguir caminhos diferentes, também estou aqui para agregar o que eu puder”, completou.
A temporada de Michael foi marcada por extremos. O atacante iniciou 2025 em alta, com status de titular: disputou 24 partidas até junho, sendo 19 desde o início, e participou das conquistas do Carioca, da Supercopa, do Brasileirão e da Libertadores.
Após o Mundial de Clubes, no entanto, sofreu com dores no tornozelo e perdeu espaço no elenco. Entrou em campo apenas cinco vezes a partir de julho. Antes do duelo diante do Mirassol, não havia completado 90 minutos em nenhuma partida no segundo semestre. Ele fechou o ano com dois gols e quatro assistências.
Capitão na partida em Mirassol, Michael destacou a experiência ao lado dos jovens do sub-20, que formaram a base do time na despedida do Brasileirão: “Sou mais velho, mas me sinto como um menino também, igual a eles. Tentei brincar, descontrair, passar um tempo com eles. Sou feliz por ter compartilhado esses dias com eles”, disse.
Após o jogo, Michael seguiu de ônibus para São Paulo e embarca na tarde deste domingo (07) com destino ao Catar, onde vai se juntar ao elenco que disputa a Copa Intercontinental. Dyogo Alves, Evertton Araújo e Wallace Yan também se apresentam em Doha.
