The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, said in an interview with CBN that it is not time for Flamengo to discuss how it will finance the construction of its own stadium and that it must first buy the land. According to Landim, once the land is acquired, Flamengo needs to use the Maracanã concession to be able to calmly plan the best construction and financing model. He assured, however, that the stadium “will come out with or without SAF”.
“Even if we have access to this land, if we are going to take care of all the licensing work, the discussions that we will have together with the city hall regarding people's mobility, the various approvals and construction time, this is a project for at least five years. I even see Maracanã as a way of, once we have the land, structuring a better way to build this stadium and finance this stadium over time. For now, what we really want is to have access to this land, which we believe is very important so that we can later develop this project calmly”, he stated.
Landim hinted that Flamengo was able to acquire the land with its own resources thanks to the club's economic power, which had revenue of almost R$1.4 billion and a surplus of more than R$320 million in 2023, as revealed in the balance sheet published last Thursday.
“We are reducing our debt, and we have a very low net debt. In fact, we are putting together the economic conditions to have a stadium”, he said.
Landim explains his insistence on the land at Gasologista
The president of Flamengo said that the Gasologista land is perfect for Flamengo's plans, which is why he is insisting so much on its acquisition.

Which is the Bayern Munich model. Instead of selling control, Bayern sold a minority portion of this capital. He continues to have 75.1% of football control. Landim defends that Flamengo controls football 'forever'
Landim assured, however, that there is no possibility that, even with the creation of the SAF, Flamengo giving up control of your football.
“There is no reason today so that in whatever Flamengo's project may be, the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo will not be the controller of your football. Whenever people associate the image of the SAF, they see the SAF as a solution to save clubs from bankruptcy. The first thing I want to make publicly is that I understand that Flamengo has no reason why its sports association should not continue to control its football forever.”
Landim attributed it to an attempt by the opposition to create controversial in an election year the anticipation of the discussion on SAF. However, the person who put the issue on the agenda was Landim's cousin and vice-president of Patrimony Arthur Rocha, who gathered signatures for an amendment to regulate the process of transforming the club into SAF. É o caso de Fábio Santos, ex-lateral do Corinthians, que esteve no Maracanã para comentar a vitória rubro-negra sobre o Independiente Medellín (COL), pela Libertadores, e relembrou a decisão de 2022, marcada como um dos momentos mais difíceis de sua carreira.

Durante participação na transmissão da ESPN, o ex-jogador não escondeu o incômodo ao revisitar o episódio. Em tom bem-humorado, mas sincero, Fábio Santos admitiu o peso da derrota na grande decisão após estarem na frente na disputa por pênaltis:
“Eu tenho que assumir que a pior derrota da minha vida foi para o Flamengo. Na final da Copa do Brasil de 2022, foi nesse gol aqui (setor sul), nos pênaltis, perdemos aquela final. Agora fora dos gramados e atuando como comentarista, Fábio Santos acompanhou de perto mais uma atuação dominante do Flamengo no estádio. Após a empolgante vitória sobre o Independiente Medellín (COL) pela Libertadores, o Flamengo volta suas atenções para o Campeonato Brasileiro. Neste domingo (19), a equipe encara o Bahia em um confronto direto na tabela. Antes disso, o técnico Leonardo Jardim comanda, neste sábado (18), o penúltimo treinamento no Ninho do Urubu, onde deve encaminhar a equipe titular em atividade tática.
A tendência é que o Flamengo vá a campo com: Agustín Rossi; Guillermo Varela, Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira e Alex Sandro; Evertton Araújo, Lucas Paquetá (De La Cruz) e Arrascaeta; Samuel Lino, Gonzalo Plata e Pedro. A definição final, no entanto, depende das observações feitas por Leonardo Jardim ao longo das atividades, especialmente diante de ausências importantes no elenco.

O Botafogo conquistou uma vitória importante ao bater o Racing (ARG) por 3 a 2, nesta quarta-feira (15), pela segunda rodada da Copa Sul-Americana. O grande destaque da partida foi o volante Danilo, alvo do Flamengo, responsável por marcar o gol decisivo já nos minutos finais, garantindo o triunfo da equipe carioca em um confronto movimentado.
Além do protagonismo dentro de campo, o jogador também esteve em evidência fora dele. Isso porque, recentemente, Danilo recusou uma proposta considerada significativa do Zenit, da Rússia. Segundo informações divulgadas pela ESPN, o clube europeu apresentou uma oferta total de 25 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 147 milhões na cotação atual) para contar com o atleta.
A investida do Zenit envolvia uma composição financeira estratégica. O clube russo propôs o pagamento de 13 milhões de euros em dinheiro, além do abatimento de uma dívida do Botafogo relacionada à contratação do atacante Artur, avaliada em 12 milhões de euros. Mesmo com o modelo atrativo, a negociação não avançou.
