Last Monday (9), Bap launched his candidacy for the presidency of Flamengo and presented some important names from your plate. Among them, Rodrigo Tostes stands out, former deputy of Finance in the Bandeira and Landim administrations, who detailed the project for the construction of the new Mengão stadium and criticized the current administration's planning.
Tostes stated that Flamengo has the capacity to generate all the revenue necessary to finance the construction of the stadium. He believes that poorly executed processes, such as the relationship with fan partners, have delayed the club's growth. The objective is to increase revenue in a few years.
“The money for the stadium is within Flamengo , working efficiently, combining marketing, finance, making all products and projects, managing and managing. Today you buy a fan membership, you go to Maracanã, there is no queue for you. We are going to increase the club's profitability”, said Tostes.
The former manager projected that Flamengo will be able to achieve revenues of R$2 billion in three to five years, representing a growth of 53.8% compared to the R$1.3 billion raised last year, which was a record in Brazilian football. He emphasized that this goal can be achieved without compromising sporting performance or creating a Football Anonymous Society (SAF).
“This money is in there, it is with this money that we will increase profitability and the club will earn 2 billion in revenue in 3, 4, 5 years. Today Flamengo makes 1 billion and 300 and only generates 150 million in cash. Why? Because it increased revenue and increased expenses exponentially.”
“We will build on the premise of the past for Bap, without compromising sporting performance. And SAF no way, you don't need SAF to do this. We are already talking to the best professionals in the world, companies in the world, chatting, listening. The feeling I have, someone who recently left Flamengo, is that the stadium will be a great opportunity to start generating more cash, better results and we can be more efficient with our investment”, he commented.
Tostes criticizes Landim management
Tostes also criticized the current management de Landim, especially the idea of selling the naming rights to finance part of the stadium work. Although the estimate is that an agreement could yield around R$1 billion, Tostes believes that the value could be double in the future and that the competing parties in the elections "don't know how to do it".
“The The stadium's money is not in the stadium, in the naming rights, in the sale of boxes... This will all be worth double down the line, and they will sell it now. (…) So this money is within the club. You just can't tell them they don't know how to do it. The people here know how to do it and that's why there won't be SAF.”
In addition, he stated that Flamengo "stopped taking care of its investments correctly" and that maintaining revenue in the range of R$ 1.3 billion may not be enough to build the stadium, which could lead to the sale of the club.< /p>
“If you leave it there with 1 billion and 300, you will need SAF. Anyone who thinks that 1 billion and 300 is enough and is already reaching the ceiling is mistaken. We have the potential for much more than that and to be much more efficient with resource management within the club”, concluded Rodrigo Tostes.
The expectation is that a large audience will come to watch the team, which turns its attention to the main national competition after the Club World Cup.
