Lorrane Oliveira and Jade Barbosa are in the fight for leadership of the Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship in the overall individual award. Rebeca Andrade and Flávia Saraiva are out of the competition for not having played on the ground. Flamengo's women's team has been dominating the competition, with the best scores on three different devices.
The Brazilian Artistic Gymnastics Championship began this Friday in Bahia, at the Lauro Freitas Arena. Representing Mengão, the four gymnasts made spectacular performances. On the ground, Jade Barbosa won the best score, and Lorrane was just behind in second place. And the great Olympic medalist, Rebeca Andrade, had the best score of the day both on the uneven bars (parallel) and on the balance beam.
Although the Flamengo team has great numbers, it is not a red-black team that leads the general individual competition. Andreza Lima accumulated a total score of 52,734 during the day on the four devices (floor, balance beam, parallel bars and vault). The gymnast got great marks in the different classifications, which puts her in first place.
However, our Lorrane is not far behind. The athlete totaled 52,634 and is in second place in the general classification, followed by Julia Soares. Jade Barbosa received 52,166 at the end of the day and could still make it to the podium. Rebeca and Flávia Saraiva are not competing in this modality, since the two stopped performing on the ground.
The competition is not over yet and this Sunday (20) the athletes return to the Lauro Freitas arena. You will know who is the champion of the individual when the sum of the scores of the two days of competition is carried out. So let's keep cheering for our girls!
Admission to follow the competition live is free, but if you're not in Salvador, no problem! The entire Championship is being broadcast on the YouTube channel of the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation. Flamengo enters the stage at 14:00 and will have a classification until 16:55.

Mengão is one of the main multi-sport teams in Brazil and stands out among the clubs that send athletes to defend the country

Flamengo confirmed its prominent position in Brazilian swimming by leading the number of athletes called up to represent the country in the five main international competitions of the 2025 season. In total, 18 swimmers from the club were called up to join different national teams, more than any other club in the country.
The calls cover five tournaments : the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore; the Junior World Championships in Otopeni (Romania); the Universiades in Berlin (Germany); the South American Youth Championships in Rio de Janeiro; and the U-15 Gymnasiades in Serbia.
Among Brazilian clubs, only Flamengo and Pinheiros have managed to field athletes in all five national teams . Flamengo leads the overall rankings with 18 players, followed by Pinheiros and Minas Tênis Clube, both with 14.
Although other institutions dominated selections in specific categories—such as Unisanta, the base team for the Singapore World Cup, with five players, and Minas Gerais, a strong performer at the Universiade and Junior World Championships— Flamengo was the standout in the youth categories . The Rio de Janeiro club had the most representatives in both the South American Youth Championship, with nine athletes, and the U-15 Gymnasiade, with five.
The survey, conducted by the Best Swimming website, analyzed a total of 23 clubs that had swimmers selected. After Flamengo, Pinheiros, and Minas, SESI-SP (10 athletes) and Unisanta (8) were the most representative. The significant presence of Flamengo on the national teams, especially among the younger players, reinforces Flamengo's role as a key player in the renewal of national swimming and one of Brazil's main talent pools.

After finding out who their opponents will be in the quarter-finals of the Brasileirão , Flamengo decided this Tuesday (8) which team they will face in the third phase of the Women's Copa do Brasil: Operário-MS, in a single match for a place in the round of 16.
Therefore, the date for the match between Flamengo and Operário-MS will be August 6th, with Mais Querido playing at home. The draw for the matches defined who would be the home team of the match and, as it was drawn first, Mengo won the right to play at home. The dates may still be subject to adjustments by the CBF.

The Meninas da Gávea drew 1-1 with Grêmio last Wednesday (18), which was even lamented by striker Vitoria Almeida, in the women's Brasileirão. The Mais Querido remained in fifth place and will now face Palmeiras in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The first game will be played at Flamengo 's home ground on August 10th at 10:30 am, with the stadium yet to be defined. The return leg is scheduled for the 17th at the same time at Arena Barueri. The games will be broadcast live on TV Globo, TV Brasil and SporTV.
