With Flamengo's 3-0 victory in the first game, Nova Iguaçu practically said goodbye to the dream of the 2024 Carioca Champion title. However, if compared to the performance of rivals against Rubro-Negro, the team led by Carlos Vitor has to be proud. After all, statistics show that Nova Iguaçu managed to create more than Fluminense.

According to a survey, Nova Iguaçu made 11 shots against Flamengo. Of these, five were in charge of the goal in the first 90 minutes of the decision. Meanwhile, Fluminense, accumulating both semi-final games, did not hit a single shot on target. In total, there were 22 shots in 180 minutes, but none with any danger of scoring. The statistics were taken from the Google database.

In the current edition of the Campeonato Carioca, Flamengo presents such a solid defense that the fact of hitting the target has to be celebrated by rivals. After all, until then, the team conceded just one goal in 14 games in the tournament. Even so, the goal in question was conceded when Fla was using an alternative team, in a game against Nova Iguaçu, in the second round of the Guanabara Cup. In the remaining matches, with Tite in charge, the team maintained an invincible defense.

In addition to the defense, Flamengo's offensive sector has also made the fans proud. After all, with 28 goals scored, the team averages two goals per match. Pedro, Fla's number 9, is the team's main reference, being responsible for finding the net 11 times in the competition.

With the good performance in Carioca, Flamengo arrives confident for the kick-off in the Liberators. Next Tuesday (02), Rubro-Negro begins the campaign in search of the fourth, facing Millonarios, from Colombia. The game will be at the El Campín stadium, in Bogotá, at an altitude of approximately 2,600 meters. Therefore, Fla knows the difficulty, but also the importance of winning the three points away from home to start the competition well.
