Flamengo will be forced to make more changes to the starting lineup in the ninth round of the Brazilian Championship, against Athletico-PR, this Sunday. But, in addition to the new absences, the field spoke louder to coach Tite. With Luiz Araújo in a good phase, Gerson's position had to change, even if against the boss's wishes. What happened?

The will was not change Gerson's position. After the midfielder returned from kidney surgery, Tite found him a kind of right midfielder, resuming the starting position he had before the problem. The team evolved with this new idea and started an important sequence of six victories.

Tite gave up the scheme with two wingers and Pedro. The center forward was joined by Everton Cebolinha in the attack and saw Gerson floating a lot in the middle and on the right side.

Against Athletico, the field will speak louder. Without Igor Jesus and Cebolinha, new injured players on the list of 10 absences, Gerson will be relegated to the position of the young baseman, while Luiz Araújo will form the offensive trio with Pedro and Bruno Henrique.

"Yes, because the field speaks. More than the coach's will", said Tite

Luiz Araújo is an important player at Fla. He is the athlete most used by Tite in the squad and has only been left out of one match in the 43 games under the coach's command so far. The number 7 is seen as fundamental. The player is even considered one of the "starters" by the committee, even though he is currently a reserve. He started 22 of the 42 games he played for Flamengo.

The striker is the player who scored the most goals off the bench. He has 11 direct participation in goals, with seven balls in the net and four assists.

"Luiz is an athlete that we also have as one of the starters. It's a shame that we can only enter with 11. The safest of everything is that we have given the same content to everyone. It's our safety. When the athletes enter, they are already in the movement routine",  César Sampaio, Tite's assistant.

Luiz Araújo will have the chance as a starter later. of about a month and a half. The last time was in the defeat to Botafogo, when he spent 66 minutes on the field. Flamengo takes the field at 4pm (Brasília time), at the Ligga Arena.

In recent years, the discussion about the need to reorganize the Brazilian football calendar has intensified. Among the voices calling for changes, Matheus Bachi stands out, who recently addressed the importance of rethinking the current format of national competitions.

One of the main concerns raised by Bachi is the time available for teams work between games. According to him, it is essential that there is an adequate period to train, define standards and prepare the players who will start the matches, as well as those who will enter during the game. This preparation is essential to guarantee a consistent and competitive performance in all competitions.

FLAMENGO AND PREPARATION TIME

Bachi highlights that, to enhance all competitions, such as the Brazilian Championship and the Copa do Brasil, it is crucial that the teams are able to give their best in each game. However, with the tight schedule and an intense sequence of games, this task becomes practically impossible. The lack of time for recovery and preparation affects not only the players' performance, but also the quality of the spectacle offered to fans.

The health of the athletes is another central point in Bachi. He emphasizes that it is necessary a reorganization of the calendar in the future to preserve the physical integrity of the players. Currently, the overload of games and the lack of time for recovery increase the risk of injuries, which compromises athletes' careers and teams' competitiveness.

In the current scenario of Brazilian football, one of the most discussed points is the management of cregional championships and their impact on the national sports calendar. The intensity and frequency of these tournaments have been a subject of debate among players, coaches and managers, who suggest a reformulation that could benefit both clubs and athletes.

Recently, a suggestion has gained strength: the reduction of regional championships. The proposal is clear and direct: reduce the number of regional games to provide more rest time for players and, consequently, expand the window of time available for the Brazilian Championship.

FLAMENGO HAS ITS VOABILITIES IN THE SEASON

Currently, regional championships are intensely contested, with matches taking place from Sunday to Sunday. This exhausting routine results in an average of just five days off for players between games. The workload not only compromises the performance of athletes on the field, but also increases the risk of injuries, affecting the quality of games and the health of professionals.

With the reduction of regional championships, it would be possible to allocate a longer period for the realization of Brazilian Championship. This change would bring significant benefits to the sporting calendar, allowing for better organization and planning of matches, as well as providing adequate rest for players. With more time available, clubs could prepare more effectively for national clashes, raising the level of competition.

This Wednesday, July 24th, Vitória and Flamengo face each other in the 19th round of the Brazilian Championship, at 8pm (Brasília time), at Barradão. Check out in this article where to watch the red-black clash in the capital of Bahia.

VITÓRIA PREPARATION

Vitória has completed preparations for the clash with Flamengo, and coach Thiago Carpini will have at least two new additions to the list of related players. Midfielder Caio Vinícius and striker Osvaldo, recovered from injury, are confirmed for the match. Furthermore, young midfielder Zé Breno, recently regularized, is also on the squad list.

On the other hand, defender Bruno Uvini was not listed for the game. In total, Carpini called up 24 players for the duel at Barradão. It is worth noting that striker Carlos Eduardo, announced as a new reinforcement, has not yet been listed because his name did not appear in the CBF's Daily Newsletter (BID).

< b>FLAMENGO LINEUP

Coach Tite is expected to make some changes to Flamengo for the game. Allan must replace Erick Pulgar, who is missing from the team. The expected lineup is almost the same as the one that beat Vasco 6-1, with Léo Pereira replacing David Luiz.
