This Tuesday (28), Flamengo and Millonarios will face each other in a game valid for the sixth and final round of the Libertadores group stage. Already eliminated from the continental tournament, the Colombian team arrives in Rio de Janeiro without pretensions, but with positive expectations.

At least, that's what David Mackalister, from Millonarios, projects. This is because, in an interview, the midfielder spoke about the delicate moment experienced by the team during the season, with the frustrations surrounding the expectations created, but highlighted confidence for the final stretch of commitments.

“It’s a semester which teaches us a lot, it has been complicated in many things: in the group, personally, in so many things… It is very difficult in the heat of the moment to make an assessment. We would like to change a thousand things: I go back and repeat, it was not an easy semester either in the group or personally, but we have to let the 'teacher' (Gamero) and the directors make their decisions and we have to stick to them”, he said, before continue:

“Even if we don't have a chance in any tournament, we have to finish in the best possible way”, he pointed out, in an interview with 'Mundo Millos'.

As mentioned, Millonarios faces Flamengo with no pretensions. This is because they are the last team in group E of the Copa Libertadores da América, and they no longer have a mathematical chance of fighting for a place in the South American Championship. Therefore, the game against Fla, thinking only about the result issue, becomes irrelevant. The point here is how the team could use the match to try to stage a comeback.

In addition to already being eliminated from the Copa Libertadores da América and without the possibility of a place in the South American competition, Millonarios also only 'fulfilled the calendar' in the final stretch of quadrangular A of the BetPlay League – the Colombian Championship.

Flamengo's next steps without Gabigol

Without the 99 shirt, the Flamengo departs this Tuesday (19) for Mato Grosso, where they will face Cuiabá at Arena Pantanal, at 7pm (Brasília time). Meanwhile, Gabigol's future remains undefined, and his relationship with the red-black board remains tense.

Flamengo prepares for the departure of Gabriel Barbosa, known as Gabigol, who recently revealed that will not renew his contract, which expires in December this year. The striker has already arranged everything for his transfer to Cruzeiro, which has generated great expectations among red and black fans about who his replacement will be in the team.

With Gabigol's imminent departure, Flamengo fans began to speculate about possible names for the center forward position. A name that gained strength on social media and became a consensus among Flamengo fans was < b>Rodrigo Muniz, currently at Fulham, in England. The player, who was revealed by Flamengo, would be a viable option for Mengão, especially with Pedro's injury, who is only expected to return to the team in the second half of 2024.

THE TRANSFER OF RODRIGO MUNIZ AND THE VALUES INVOLVED

Rodrigo Muniz was Traded to Fulham in August 2021 for a fee of €8 million. Since then, the striker has stood out in English football, but his adaptation to the British club was not enough to guarantee his place in the starting line-up.

Fulham would be willing to negotiate the athlete, but according to information from Bolavip Brasil, the amount required for his transfer would be 20 million of euros (around R$ 122 million at current prices), an amount similar to the request for player Charly Alcaraz.

FLAMENGO MUST DECIDE ON THE HIRING

The possibility of bringing Rodrigo Muniz back to Flamengo has not yet been officially confirmed by the club, but the striker's name has been very well received by the fans, who welcome his return of a base idol. Furthermore, the negotiation would require a significant amount, which could become a determining factor in Flamengo's talks to sign the player.
