HE ATTACKS AGAIN! NALDO BENNY GUARANTEES THAT "IT'S WORKING OUT" FOR NEYMAR TO PLAY FOR FLAMENGO

In a decisive match for the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo enforced his command on the field and beat Juventude 4-2, this Saturday (26), at Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro. With yet another dominating performance, Mengão controlled the game against the team from Rio Grande do Sul and scored important points in the dispute for G4 of the competition.

Uruguayan midfielder De Arrascaeta was fundamental to Mengão's performance in the match, contributing with one of the team's four goals. However, after receiving a yellow card in this Saturday's game, 's number 14 Flamengo accumulates suspensions and is out of the next match against Internacional. As a result, the coach should use Alcaraz in midfield, as De La Cruz is still injured and should only return in November.

CLASSIFICATION OF TEAMS IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

With this victory, Flamengo guaranteed its stay in the G4, occupying fourth place with 54 points. Juventude is in a more delicate situation, in 15th place, with 34 points, and could end the round within the relegation zone, depending on the results of the remaining games.

The Mais Querido returns to the pitch next Wednesday (30), at 7pm (Brasília time), in a postponed match against Internacional, valid for the 17th round of the Brasileirão, which will be played at Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre. Juventude returns to the field next Saturday (2), at 6:30 pm, facing Caxias do Sul in the 32nd round of the championship.

Flamengo beat Juventude 4-2 this Saturday afternoon (26), in the Brazilian Championship. Before the duel takes place Wesley received a great tribute from Flamengo's board after completing 100 games wearing the Manto. The athlete received a personalized shirt and applause from the Nation. 

The 100th game took place in the 2-0 defeat to Fluminense last Thursday (17), the right back, 21 years old, reached the milestone. With that, shirt number 43 was honored at the stadium. 

ALMOST SOLD TO EUROPE

Wesley almost had a spell at Flamengofinalized in the middle of the year, when Atalanta, from Italy, made a proposal for 20 million euros (R$120 million) to count on the full-back's football. However, the negotiation was not finalized as the Italian club changed its route to sign Raoul Bellanova who, as he is Italian, would not need to deal with the bureaucracy of a work visa or even take over the club's extra-community space.

EVOLUTION DURING THE SEASON

With his stay at the club, Wesley has been evolving and, since the arrival of Filipe Luís as head coach from Flamengo, assumed the role of starter absolute on the right side of Mais Querido. One of the main criticisms about the young man, the defensive side, has increasingly disappeared with the player being one of Mengão's leaders in tackles and interceptions.

Wesley outperformed lots of criticism until he reached the level of performance he has demonstrated. During negotiations with Atalanta, many fans even said that they would take the player to the airport so that the full-back could leave the club. However, with recent good performances, the player has been turning things around and establishing himself as one of the main full-backs in Brazilian football.

The opponent was Juventude and the objective of Filipe Luiz's team was to win and close the gap on leader Botafogo and continue dreaming of the national title. Therefore, Fla fulfilled what was expected and won 4-2, with a goal from Gabigol. That's right, after 14 matches, the striker scored the second red-black goal.

SUMMARY

It was a busy first half at Maracanã. Flamengo took control of the game and pressed for practically the entire time, but Juventude managed to hold on well and still had some scares on the counterattacks. At seven minutes, in a steal of the ball in attack, Michael had the ball to spare, cleared the marker and opened the scoring for Fla. The team led by Filipe Luís had other chances to expand. In one of them, Gerson tried to serve Gabigol instead of finishing - in the counterattack of that move, Gilberto was thrown onto the back of the red and black defense and left everything the same.

After the break, Flamengo came back devastating and soon broke the tie. With just 1 minute, good plot from Flamengo on the right, Michael receives it inside the area and passes it to Gerson, who falls after contact from Mandaca. Referee does not hesitate and awards the penalty. Therefore, Gabigol goes for the penalty, and 14 games later, he scores again wearing the Fla shirt.  However, it didn't stop there, and at 14 minutes, Arrascaeta scored the third, giving the team peace of mind and leading to victory. 

The problem with this is that this forwarding was not combined with Juventude, who, coming out on counterattacks, decreased at 24 min. Free kick taken inside the area, Flamengo's defense clears it badly. Edson Carioca takes the rest, dominates and shoots with the right leg. Ball goes to Rossi, who accepts it. The team from Rio Grande do Sul maintained the momentum to draw, but luckily for Flamengo, Nenê complained too much to the referee, who ended up being sent off, leaving the red and black team with one more on the field. As a result, the red and black team just took their time and still had time to score one more at the end, with Gonzado Plata, to settle the bill at Maracanã.

With the result, Flamengo reaches 54 points and reduces the distance to the leadership of the competition, with one game in hand . However, now the team led by Filipe Luis needs to prepare, as they have a tough game in the middle of the week. That's because he's going to Porto Alegre, to face Internacional, in Beira Rio. The match will take place next Wednesday, at 7:30 pm.
