In response to the repercussion, Travancas met with members of the OAB-RJ and decided to review his position.

The case came to light on Monday, when Travancas, alleging illegalities in Paes' decree, he asked for its annulment. He had written a letter addressed to other lawyers and members of the Public Ministry, but without pointing out the specific irregularities. Upon learning of the request, Mayor Eduardo Paes spoke out through social media, criticizing the undersecretary's action.
