Marcius Melhem spoke out in an interview after receiving accusations of psychological terror. An investigation was opened against him at the Public Ministry to investigate more recent allegations. He had already been accused of sexual crimes, but now it is being investigated whether he had persecuted the women who decided to expose him.
The investigation and investigation of facts against the former comedy director of the Globo network is being carried out by the Public Ministry of São Paulo. The cases of persecution and violence that are part of the process would have occurred on his YouTube channel, where the comedian made comments regarding harassment reports made in his name.
For the Flamengo fan, however, the new accusation is just an attempt to silence him. In his view, the women who would have been victims of his inappropriate sexual advances want to remove him from the platform so that he has no chance of defending himself. Marcius said that he only decided to start videos on the subject when the complainants gave an interview to 'Metrópoles'.
To the same news outlet, Melhem said: “No one has suffered greater psychological violence than me and my daughters. Unlike the accusers, my career was interrupted, I received death threats and I had to leave the country for a while. My daughters suffered bullying and psychological damage that they will not be able to overcome and are currently undergoing treatment. It was the accusers who took the complaint public and I was the one who sought justice.”
The actor also states that the Public Prosecutor's Office's action in taking down his channel violates his legal right to reply. “They are trying to silence me at this moment because public opinion has woken up, the lies have been unmasked and the truth has taken the place of accusations without evidence, without foundation. The attempt to silence me is yet another form of violence. By trying to prevent me from exercising my defense, the accusers want to censor me and take away my voice. Something that goes against the Democratic Rule of Law”, he stated.

The actor and director Marcius Melhemis the target of yet another criminal complaint, now on suspicion of attacking women on social media who accuse him of sexual harassment and harassment. The Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP) asks that he be convicted of the crimes of persecution and psychological violence.
After the case of the accusations became public, the comedian started using social networks to give his version . It turns out that, in the opinion of the Public Prosecutor's Office, he exceeded the limits of the right to defense and embarked on an attempt at "retaliation", which the complaint calls a "vindictive campaign".
Prosecutor Paulo Henrique Castex, who wrote the piece, states that the comedian exposed women's intimacy "without any concern for the highly damaging consequences that these public exposures can cause". He lists, for example, emotional damages and even financial losses. The complaint also attributes to the artist a "plan of massive attacks on the honor and dignity" of these women, supported by hate speech, all with the aim of disqualifying them, according to the MP.
"On the pretext to 'exercise his defense' before the public, Melhem organized and put into practice a digital multiplatform orchestration campaign, with attacks of all kinds against the victims, including the use of elements of gender discrimination, imbued with a feeling of revenge, which has been perpetuated over time", says an excerpt from the complaint, filed on February 26th.
O Public Prosecutor's Office also states that Marcius Melhem tried to attribute to women the stereotype of "liars, opportunists, with sexual behavior immoral". "Melhem's public defense campaign adopts the true contours of the hateful legitimate defense of honor, an archaic concept that allowed a man to act with vindictive violence against a woman who had 'dishonored' him", adds the MP.
The prosecutor cites a study by NetLab, a research laboratory on the internet and social networks at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), which concluded that the actor incited followers to engage in attacks and created a "community with multiplatform action, which reinforces misogyny" online. The next step is the analysis of the complaint by the Judiciary. If the judge responsible considers that there is evidence of a crime, a criminal case will be opened.
Judge Luciane Jabur Figueiredo, from the 21st Criminal Court of São Paulo, referred the case to the Court of Justice of Rio, where criminal actions are already being processed against the comedian.
