Flamengo posted an extensive video report this Friday (7), on its official YouTube channel, about the victory in the Maracanã bidding process. The consortium formed with Fluminense won the right to manage the stadium for the next 20 years. In the article, the story of the beginning of Fla and Flu's administration and the plans for the new period were told.

Flamengo's legal and general vice-president, Rodrigo Dunshee, Flamengo's CEO, Ronaldo Belotti , and the CEO of Maracanã, Severiano Braga, were interviewed in the article. First, the three recalled their memories at the stadium. Dunshee and Belotti, red and black, talked about historic games they had seen and Braga, who is from Minas Gerais, revealed that he had never seen a game at Maracanã.

Then, the three talked about how Flamengo took over the Maracanã, in 2019, on a provisional basis. Severiano Braga stated that the place was in a state of abandonment, without electricity and with serious problems with the water supply and air conditioning. Dunshee, who is a candidate for president of Flamengo with the support of president Rodolfo Landim, said that the stadium looked like a pigsty and was causing losses for everyone, including the clubs, concessionaire and the State Government.

In continuation, the three interviewees spoke of the improvements made in the five years of provisional concession. Severiano Braga highlighted the work with the pitch, which drew criticism from fans and the press. The Maracanã CEO said that today the two best grass companies in Brazil work at the stadium and the field situation has improved a lot, even with the high number of games.

Dunshee defended the area behind the goals no chairs

When they spoke about the future, the three agreed that with the concession of 20 years, shelved plans could become reality. Belotti talked about restaurants and other attractions for fans/customers. Braga cited the issue of coverage, which will require maintenance and eventual replacement.

At this point, Flamengo's pre-candidate for president, Rodrigo Dunshee, said he would like to see the Maracanã with areas behind the goal without the chairs, but only with standing fans. The VP said, however, that everything will be discussed with Fluminense in the new company that will manage Maracanã. In this company, Flamengo will have 65% control.

However, Mundo Rubro Negro read all the documents of the winning proposal sent by Flamengo and Fluminense to the Government of Rio. At no time was the possibility of withdrawing the chairs in the areas behind the goals are mentioned. The creation of an area for popular tickets is also not mentioned.

The elimination of the Libertadores last Thursday (26) shook the structures of Flamengo. Now, the squad is trying to overcome the atmosphere of discouragement that took hold behind the scenes before the matches against Athletico-PR, in the Brasileirão, and Corinthians, in the Copa do Brasil.

The team's re-presentation on Friday (27), after the fall in Uruguay, it occurred amid “silence”. According to information from ‘Coluna do Fla’, the players barely spoke to each other upon returning to the CT. Thus, the feeling of disappointment dominated the activities, both of the regenerating starters and the reserves on the field.

Tite and his coaching staff are now looking to regain the squad's focus for the remainder of the season. Flamengo has two games scheduled in less than seven days after elimination. Rubro-Negro will face Athletico-PR this Sunday (29), in the 28th round of the Brasileirão, and Corinthians on Wednesday (02), in the semi-final of the Copa do Brasil.

Resumption in the Brasileirão and in the Copa do Brasil

With 45 points and in fourth place, Flamengo hasn't won in three rounds in the Brasileirão and sees the distance to leader Botafogo increase to 12 points. Therefore, this Sunday's match (29) is crucial for Tite's aspirations in the competition.

Flamengo's campaign in the Copa do Brasil has been positive. After eliminating Amazonas, Palmeiras and Bahia, Rubro-Negro prepares to face Corinthians and reaches the semifinals with the spirit of two victories in the quarterfinals. However, the team's morale is not the best. Flamengo x Athletico-PR

In the “eye of the storm”, the game against Athletico -PR will be Flamengo's first after their elimination in the Libertadores. The match is scheduled for 8pm (Brasília time) this Sunday (29), at Maracanã.

This is not the first time that the club has published something against the articles by Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper O Globo

Flamengo released a statement on Monday night (23) refuting the news published by journalist Diogo Dantas, from the newspaper ‘O Globo’, about a supposed new muscle problem for striker Gabigol. According to the club, the information is false and Gabigol is training normally with the rest of the team, and is even involved in the game against Peñarol (URU) in the Libertadores.

Now, in the early afternoon of this Tuesday, Flamengo released another note, once again clarifying what for the club, is yet another false news from the journalist from the newspaper "O Globo". This time Diogo Dantas' article refers to Fla's supposed interest in Luís Castro, former Botafogo coach who was in Saudi Arabia.

The club's note follows in full:

"The Clube de Regatas do Flamengo is appalled by the stance of journalist Diogo Dantas, from Jornal O Globo. Subsequently, he publishes lying articles involving the institution's professionals, clearly without no type of critical sense and with freedom from superiors.

Incredibly, he repeated the pattern a few hours after an official note addressing yet another of his daily fake news and without any type of warning in a vehicle of such size relevance.

We clarify that coach Luís Castro has never spoken to any Rubro-Negro manager and even less is the subject of “changing coaches for 2025” on the agenda. Such a scenario does not exist and once again disrespects everyone. the professionals and family members involved in the day-to-day life of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo.

We warn our fans to avoid using vehicles responsible for false articles on a daily basis. We are in favor of press freedom, but we cannot tolerate the lack of commitment to the truth and the targeted attacks promoted by the journalist.

Finally, we regret that Jornal O Globo, a traditional outlet that already had so many good responsible journalists in relevant positions, today we highlight a professional who fails to tell the truth on a daily basis and does not suffer any type of consequence. "
