Grêmio visited Flamengo last Thursday (13) and was defeated 2-1 at Maracanã, with two goals from Luiz Araújo, in a game valid for the Brazilian Championship. After the match, the journalist and fanatical fan of the Rio Grande do Sul club, Farid Germano Filho, became a meme on the internet after stating that he could no longer bear losing to the red-black team.

— I can no longer lose to the Flamengo, I no longer accept losing to Flamengo. When the championship table comes out and you see that there are Flamengo and Grêmio at Maracanã, you don't even need to play. Flamengo wins. I have nightmares about Flamengo — said Farid, right after Grêmio's defeat to Flamengo.

— I can't stand losing to Flamengo anymore. I can not take it anymore. Three times, I can't take it anymore. And the way Grêmio loses to Flamengo makes me more nervous, more irritated and more restless. Grêmio started the match playing a good game — commented the Grêmio player.

Flamengo has become Grêmio's tormentor in recent years. In 2019, the red-black team scored a historic 5-0 defeat in the Copa Libertadores semi-final. Last season, Mengão eliminated the Gauchos in the same phase, but in the Copa do Brasil.

Last Thursday (13), Flamengo beat Grêmio once again, now in the Brazilian Championship. Luiz Araújo came off the bench and scored two goals for the team led by coach Tite. Therefore, Farid commented on Mengo's number 7.

— But this boy, Luiz Araújo, came in to give Grêmio hell. This Luiz Araújo is a devil in the life of Grêmio, a devil. A demon incorporated Luiz Araújo. He scored two goals that finished off Grêmio. He comes in and ends the game. Shoo, devil, shoo, you don't come in here — concluded the journalist.

Therefore, Flamengo now forgets Grêmio and focuses on the next commitments. This is because the red and black team will play again this Sunday (16), at 4pm (Brasília time), against Athletico-PR, at the Ligga Arena, in Curitiba, for the Brazilian Championship.

Flamengo was defeated by Juventude 2-1 last Wednesday (26), in a match valid for 12th round of the Brazilian Championship. The game, held at the Alfredo Jaconi Stadium, highlighted the tiredness of the red and black team and the absence of eight players due to injuries and other absences, which made the search for a positive result difficult.

After the match , coach Tite spoke about the difficulties faced by the team, especially the absence of key players such as Everton Cebolinha and Bruno Henrique, both injured. Tite opted for Victor Hugo to play on the left side of the attack, a decision that generated questions at the press conference.

“The tactical options are for players who are training and already have a routine. Victor (Hugo) has played in this sector many times. If you look back at how many games he played in this sector, you'll see that it's not improvisation. In the past, at Flamengo, he performed similar functions. He has that possibility”, explained Tite.

MATHEUS GONÇALVES SITUATION

Matheus Gonçalves, aged 18, who made just six appearances for the first team this season, was again left on the bench during the 90 minutes against Juventude. The young athlete's last appearance was against Amazonas, in the Copa do Brasil, on May 1st. Since then, he has alternated between being on the bench, being unrelated and playing for the under-20s.

NEXT CHALLENGE

Aiming to recover from the defeat, Flamengo prepares to face Cruzeiro next Sunday (30), at 6:30 pm, at Maracanã. The team needs to win to maintain its lead in the Brazilian Championship and regain the fans' confidence.

Next Sunday, June 30th, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), Flamengo will host Cruzeiro, in a game valid for the 13th round of the Brazilian Championship. And for the match at Maracanã, the Minas Gerais team will be without Zé Ivaldo, an absolute starter and one of the defensive pillars of Fernando Seabra's team.

Zé Ivaldo will not go to Rio de Janeiro because he received his third yellow card in the game against Athletico-PR, this Wednesday, and will need to serve a suspension. In the second half of Cruzeiro's 2-0 victory at Mineirão, the defender was warned in the 27th minute of the second half, after a strong attack on striker Pablo.

So, who should form the defense duo with João Marcelo must be Neris, a 32-year-old defender who is not having a good season.

Despite the great 2-0 victory against Athletico-PR, Cruzeiro fans were very sorry for the yellow card received by Zé Ivaldo, which leaves the defender out of the match against Flamengo. On social media, fans of the Minas Gerais club despaired over the defender's suspension.
