ZICO REMEMBERS FLAMENGO'S GOLDEN GENERATION IN THE 80's

The greatest idol in the history of Flamengo was the guest of the podcast of one of the most recent idols of the club, Diego Ribas and Zico talked about the golden age of Mais Querido and how were the games and competitions that Galinho played. In the conversation between former players, the subject of Flamengo's first golden generation was addressed. The Mais Querido 80s raised the club's level, for Zico it could have been very different if the squad had not won the 1974 Carioca Championship. For him, this title was crucial for the maintenance of the team. He explains that his generation, the base category team, won the Championship with Galinho as the starter.
However, in the following years the team did not repeat the feat. The fans expected the team to win the following year, but Rubro Negro was in a drought in 1975, 1976, 1977. If they did not win in 1978, the team would be dismantled and the story of Mais Querido would be very different.
“First year, Rio de Janeiro champion. The regionals were like Brazilians today. The Brazilian team was from Rio de Janeiro. There was no integration of the whole of Brazil. This gave great importance to the States. We won in 74, come 75, 76, 77, out. If we didn't win in 1978, that group would certainly fall apart. We won. From there we were fortunate to have three generations that fit together. Mine, from Cantareli, Rondinelli, Geraldo, Júnior. Tita, Adílio, Andrade came. Then came Mozer, Figueiredo, Anselmo. It brought together three spectacular generations”, says Zico.
Zico also emphasized that he dedicated his whole life to Flamengo “Nothing compares (to what I experienced at Flamengo). Very strong in every way. It was a lifetime of effort, improvement, complicated moments, insecurity. Know if you will follow. For people to believe. Or not to believe it”, he said before finishing by saying that the team that won the World Cup 11 were from the base of Rubro Negro:“ From the world champion team, there were 11 players who played in the base. It's a lot.”

Flamengo has once again been approached by European clubs interested in one of its most talked-about prospects: midfielder Lorran. According to journalist Venê Casagrande, Pisa, recently promoted to the Italian football elite, made a loan offer for the player, but the terms of the negotiation did not please the red-black board, which chose to reject the proposal.
With the decision, the club kept Lorran in the under-20 squad , where he competes in the Brazilian Championship in the category. Despite being away from the main squad, the youngster continues to stand out with good performances and technical moves in training, which continues to arouse the interest of teams outside the country.
PISA RETURNS TO ITALIAN SERIES A AFTER 34 YEARS
Pisa is experiencing a historic moment after securing promotion to Italy's Serie A for the first time in 34 years. Led by Filippo Inzaghi, the team is looking for reinforcements and identified Lorran as an opportunity for young talent to join the squad. However, despite their rising European profile, the deal was not successful.
Other European clubs, such as Lille from France, are also showing interest in the midfielder. Information from the portal “RTI Esportes” reveals that the French club met with José Boto , an executive with a history in European football, to evaluate the viability of a proposal of €15 million (approximately R$96.7 million).

Flamengo has taken an important step towards finalizing the permanent transfer of midfielder Victor Hugo, 21 , to Famalicão, in Portugal. The Portuguese club has presented a purchase proposal that was considered satisfactory by the red-black board, which has already authorized the player's representatives to define the contract terms with the Europeans.
The expectation is that the contract with Famalicão will be valid for three seasons . The values involved in the negotiation were not revealed. The information was released by journalist Venê Casagrande.
NO SPACE IN THE CAST
Victor Hugo recently returned to the club after a loan spell at Goztepe in Turkey. The contract with the Turkish club included a buyout clause set at 8 million euros (approximately R$51 million) , but the European team chose not to exercise the option. Without a place in the squad led by Filipe Luís, the player is not part of the plans for the rest of the season.
Initially, Famalicão discussed the possibility of a new loan , but the talks evolved into a permanent transfer, considered the most advantageous solution by Flamengo 's football department.
PASSING TURKEY
During his time at Goztepe, Victor Hugo made 35 appearances, starting 12 of them, and scored three goals. He was involved in the team's eighth-place finish in the national league and also in the team's run to the semi-finals of the Turkish Cup, ending his spell with a stoppage-time goal against Kasimpasa on May 30.

So, in the coming weeks, Flamengo will face a marathon of games in the Brasileirão. The sequence begins between July 12th and 13th, against São Paulo, at Maracanã. Soon after, the Mais Querido will face Santos, with the location still to be defined. On the 20th, Mengo will play the classic against Fluminense.
On the 23rd, Flamengo travels to face Bragantino. It is worth noting that, at the moment, Mais Querido is the leader of the Brasileirão, with 24 points in 11 rounds.
At the end of July, Flamengo turns its attention to the Copa do Brasil. The Mais Querido will host Atlético-MG on the 27th, at Maracanã, for the first leg of the round of 16. Finally, on the 31st, the Rubro-Negro will visit the Minas Gerais team for the return leg.
