The game
The Rubro-Negro came with a lot of offensive strength and sharp aim right at the start first quarter of the match. Without being intimidated by the pressure of the opposing fans and led by Gui Deodato - who reached 12 points in the fourth -, the Gávea team had a very high shooting rate of 76.6% and scored 36 points in the 10 minutes. Defensively, application and 10 rebounds held Franca, who had 19 on the scoreboard. Scott Machado and Maique, with seven points each, were also highlights in the period.
In the second quarter, the opponent made mistakes and Flamengo continued well, maintaining the advantage built in the first minutes. The red-black superiority was great, with the athletes comfortable on the court, while Franca was unable to react. Halfway through the period, Mais Querido opened up 21 points, with Didi at the free throw line (31-52). Franca ended up winning the fourth (20-16), but FlaBasquete continued to win well: 52 to 39.
Flamengo's first points after the break came once again from the hands of the great scorer Gui Deodato, from outside the perimeter. In addition to the #1 shirt, Didi also had a great game. Rubro-Negro controlled the game well until the last quarter, when the French team reacted and came closer on the scoreboard (63-70). It was once again Deodato who was responsible for restoring peace to Flamengo, with a beautiful triple ball that left Mais Querido 14 points behind Franca, when the clock showed just over four minutes until the end. In the final moments, the game, which had heated up, came back under control and Mengão secured another victory and the lead in the competition.
