Marion Kaplan, Flamengo's advisor, complained this Thursday (22), during a meeting of the Deliberative Council, about an episode of machismo suffered by herself at the club's previous meeting, last Monday (19). On that occasion, Marion had her speech interrupted, shouting, by a counselor, who turned his back, left the room and only returned to her seat after she had finished speaking.

“I still feel deeply violated by what happened Monday- fair. On Monday I was interrupted shouting by a counselor, and while I was speaking he turned his back, walked away, and only came back after I had finished speaking. That hurt me and continues to hurt me”, he stated.

At the time, Marion questioned the vice-president of Marketing, Gustavo Oliveira, whether the increase from R$40.7 million in 2023 to R$50 million in 2025 justified the signing of Flamengo's long-term contract with Brax. It was then that the counselor shouted questioning the numbers, without there being any reaction from the president of the Deliberative Council, Antônio Alcides, against the interruption of Marion's speech.

“It is not possible that even today we have this type of archaic mentality . There is a term for this. It's called maintainrupting, it's a term they created for this type of extremely misogynistic, sexist, unpleasant and inelegant attitude. I hope there's no more, and I can't take it anymore. I hope that next time this person is called, they have to call, they have to put an end to this”, he complained.

Marion, one of the most active advisors at Flamengo meetings and who tries to organize a women's bench at the club, lamented that the episode was witnessed by a girl who attended the Monday meeting with her mother.

“There was a counselor with your daughter that day, and I remember I looked and said 'that's cool, the next counselor'. And they witnessed it. This is unacceptable. It's terrible. That type of attitude should no longer be allowed, with me or any other woman", she said.

Marion's speech was applauded by the counselors. Gustavo Oliveira asked to speak to offer his “solidarity” to the counselor. Alcides, however, did not comment on Marion's complaint against the machismo episode at Flamengo.

Essential for child development, breast milk is considered by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the “golden food”, giving rise to Golden August, a month to encourage breastfeeding. Thus, to reinforce support for the campaign, Flamengo's Social Responsibility department took, last Tuesday (27), water polo athlete Duda Martins, who is 26 weeks pregnant, and the club's mascots to meet the Maria Amélia Buarque de Holanda Municipal Maternity, a reference in humanized care for pregnant women, in the center of Rio.

As part of the activity program, the athlete received guidance on the breastfeeding process and the importance of breast milk in child development and in building bonds together with other pregnant and postpartum women cared for by the maternity ward.

“Flamengo's presence here today is extremely important because all actions aimed at Agosto Dourado aim to support, promote and increasingly encourage breastfeeding. Encouraging breastfeeding on demand, increasing breastfeeding time allows society to understand the real benefit that human milk has for both babies and mothers”, said Carla Navarrete, coordinator of the Nutrition and Dietetics Service at the Maternity Hospital and president of the Unit's Breastfeeding Committee.

“Visiting the Maria Amélia maternity ward was an incredible experience, I could see that the maternity ward is really very intense. I answered questions, learned and prepared myself a little more, and had contact with other pregnant women. Each of us had different doubts and fears, which were fully welcomed by the team that welcomed us. It was a pleasure to be part of Flamengo's social responsibility action”, said athlete Duda Martins.

Production assistant Josiane Portugal, who is also pregnant and undergoes prenatal care at the maternity ward, added. “Today I learned that only breast milk is enough and no other milk is needed for the child to grow up healthy. I loved Flamengo's presence here today. I'm a Flamengo fan, my family is Flamengo fan and I was very happy to know that Flamengo supports breastfeeding”, she praised.

As part of the proposal to humanize motherhood, the athlete received a beautiful pregnancy painting, which allowed you to understand how your baby is positioned inside your belly.

Flamengo is in a presidential election year and, as a result, campaigns have begun to be publicized. Thus, one more person applied for the election: Delair Dumbrosck, who is part of the group "Nação Sem Fronteiras".

In publicizing the campaign, Delair Dumbrosck spoke about his projects and what he thinks about the growth of sports Olympics. Furthermore, the pre-candidate also showed a sustainable solution for building his own stadium. Finally, the candidate spoke about the alternatives to internationalize the club's brand on the world stage.

DELAIR DUMBROSCK

Delair is an entrepreneur in the market segment real estate. Within Rubro-Negro, the pre-candidate was already president of the club in 2009, when Márcio Braga left the position. The possibility of implementing a Football Limited Society (SAF) in Flamengo became more difficult after a change approved yesterday in a vote in the Deliberative Council. The proposal, which received 272 votes in favor, 2 against and 1 abstention, establishes new criteria that make it difficult for the club to transform into a SAF. One of the main obstacles is the need for approval in the General Assembly, with a minimum quorum of 60% of voting members.

Currently, Flamengo has 6,124 members, which means that, for the SAF idea is approved, at least 3,675 members would need to vote in favor of the proposal. This number is significant and increases the level of complexity of the process, since mobilizing such a large number of partners and still ensuring that the absolute majority of them are in favor of the change is a considerable challenge.

FLAMENGO HAS A DIFFICULT TASK THIS SEASON

The Sociedade Anônima do Futebol (SAF) is a business management model that allows the entry of external capital and investors to manage the club, in addition to offering a format more market-oriented law. In Brazil, several clubs have adhered to this model, such as Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Vasco, with the aim of attracting investment and improving the financial health of institutions.

No Flamengo, which already has consolidated and financially healthy management compared to many other clubs in the country, the implementation of the SAF divides opinions. While some see the model as an opportunity to accelerate growth and ensure an even more solid foundation for the future, others believe that the club, due to its current good financial situation, does not need to resort to this strategy.
