The young archer also He revealed the fear he felt when he found out he had cancer and said he feared he would no longer be able to play. The young man was performing at a high level at the time. However, his gradual return began in April and he reveals that it took a lot of struggle.

“To be quite honest, at that time, it didn't sink in. I was caught off guard. It was at a time when I was training, and a week later I found out. I didn't react, and after a while I calmed down. But I had a lot of faith that it would pass. It was a moment of sadness, but at the same time, knowing that it was going to work out”, he remembers.

“Thank God, I came back. I fought a lot. I had a week of rehabilitation to get back into rhythm and, after a month, I was following the boys in training”, he adds.

The game

Needing at least two goals to force penalties, the Garotos do Ninho started the match by taking the initiative to seek the attack. When they were without the ball, the red and black team advanced the marking to force Goiás to make a mistake. At 18', after a cross from the right, Shola took the first shot and the Emerald defense took it over the line.

With larger volume of the game, Flamengo continued to attack. At 25', Felipe Teresa risked a shot from outside the area and the goalkeeper saved it for a corner. In the final minutes of the opening stage, the red-and-black number 9 again arrived well on the right side, made a great individual play and hit hard with his left-hander. The goalkeeper managed to save Goiás and saved Goiás. The teams went to halftime without changing the score.

The Red -Negro returned for the second half, exchanging passes in the offensive field to try to open up space in the Goiás defense, which was well positioned behind. Esmeraldino, in turn, started to have more of the ball from the 15th minute onwards and opened the scoring. Halerrandrio took advantage of the failure of the red and black defense and scored a goal: 1 to 0.

In the final stretch of the game, Bill, from Flamengo, and Guilherme Elias, from Goiás, received a red card for aggression in a play on the left side. The red-black striker had just replaced Zé Welinton. In stoppage time, Lorran was brought down in the area and the referee awarded the penalty. Captain Iago went for the penalty, hit the goalkeeper's left corner and tied the match: 1 to 1.

The equalizing goal did little good, as the red-black team had lost the first game 4-2, in Serrinha. As a result, Garotos do Ninho ended up being eliminated from the competition.

Flamengo is preparing for a decisive clash in the Copa do Brasil U20, facing Goiás in the second leg of the round of 16 . The game is scheduled for today, at 5:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, in Volta Redonda. The Rio team will count on the presence of Lorran, one of the great promises of the youth categories, as reinforcement to guarantee classification.

Lorran's presence brings extra energy to the team led by the coach, who believes in potential of the young attacking midfielder to contribute decisively in this game. The athlete, who has stood out at the base, could be a key piece in Flamengo's strategy to break through Goiás' defense. In the first duel, Rubro-Negro came out with a draw, leaving the classification open, which increases the importance of a complete and reinforced squad for the return game. p>

A REINFORCEMENT FOR THE BASE OF FLAMENGO

In the first leg, Flamengo and Goiás drew 1-1, a result that maintained the balance in the confrontation. However, Flamengo enters the field with the advantage of playing at home, counting on the support of the fans to seek victory. In addition to Lorran, the team has been preparing intensely in training, focusing on correcting mistakes and improving offensive performance, one of the points that concerns the coach.

EXPERIENCED IN DECISIONS

Goiás, in turn, promises to make life difficult for Rio residents. The team from Goiás showed resistance in the first game and arrives at Raulino de Oliveira with the aim of surprising Flamengo and advancing to the quarter-finals. To do this, Goiás must maintain its strong marking strategy and explore quick counterattacks, trying to take advantage of possible mistakes from Rubro-Negro.

Expectations surrounding Lorran are high. The young player is considered one of the jewels of Ninho do Urubu and is being worked on to join the main team in the future. Their performance in the Copa do Brasil U20 is seen as an opportunity to mature and gain experience in decisive games, like today. For Flamengo, classification is fundamental, as the tournament serves as a showcase and development for their promises.
