Flamengo was not aware of Botafogo last Friday (26) and won 78-56, at Maracanãzinho. In this way, the red-black team advanced to the next stage in the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). After the match, point guard Gabriel Jaú and coach Gustavinho evaluated Pride of the Nation's performance.

— We focus a lot on ourselves, that's what Gustavo asks, both defensively and offensively. We know the biggest objective, which is to be in the final, to be able to compete for another title. We are working on improving our game, without worrying so much about the opponent that will come, no matter the level of difficulty they present. Everyone who comes to the playoff is more focused and committed, so we have to be very careful —, said guard Gabriel Jaú.

— I think Flamengo played the series very well 80% of the time, we had a bad last quarter against Botafogo away. Congratulations to the team, now the focus is total on the quarterfinals. Both Fortaleza and São José are great teams, they play very hard —, highlighted Gustavinho.

Flamengo dominated the actions against Botafogo. In the first period, the red-and-black team scored 23 to 8. Despite the rival's improvement, Orgulho da Nação practically repeated it and scored 24 to 13 in the second, going into the break with a score of 47 to 21.

After the break, Botafogo grew in performance, but it was not enough to take away the large red-black advantage. At the break, the rivals won 17 to 15. Finally, in the fourth quarter, another triumph, now 18 to 16. However, Orgulho da Nação ended the match with a 22-point lead.
