Flamengo's Uruguayan full-back, Varela, took advantage of his free time to visit tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro. This Friday (24), he took a tour of Rocinha, where he played altinha with children and interacted with residents, in an experience that was recorded and went viral on social media.

The tour guide, Bruno Brito , highlighted to the website MRN, the player's humility during the tour, mentioning that Varela treated everyone with attention and kindness, regardless of whether they were Flamengo fans or not. Images show the player participating in a capoeira class, playing altinha and taking photos with the residents.




INFLUENCE OF ARRASCAETA

Varela is not the first foreigner from Flamengo to visit Rocinha. Midfielder Arrascaeta recommended Bruno Brito's work to Varela and other Uruguayan players in the squad. The family of full-back Matías Viña also took a tour of the community.

PREPARATION FOR LIBERTADORES

The tour de Varela took place after the first preparatory training for the clash with Millonarios, from Colombia. On Monday morning (30), Flamengo announced Tite's dismissal. Furthermore, Rubro-Negro also reported that Filipe Luís will be the interim coach until the end of the season. Thus, after his first activity as commander of the professional squad, the former full-back gave an interview to FlaTV and spoke about the way he wants to see Mais Querido.

"My game model is very attacking. Sometimes I I'm sorry for not being afraid, for attacking too much. But this team is already well trained, it already has stability, very good defensive organization. Now I'm going to try to put my idea into practice, which is different, so that we can see the team. attacking the way I want to see a lot of goals and a lot of scoring chances", said Filipe Luís.

"I know this squad well. I played with practically with them. all of them. My goal is to be able to put my game model into practice as quickly as possible so that they can develop what I want and that we can see represented on the field as quickly as possible", added Filipe.
